NRA Basic Pistol class scheduled for March 17 & 18

My next NRA Basic Pistol class will be held on Monday and Tuesday, March 17 & 18 starting at 6 p.m. each night. An ideal number of students for me is six, and I think I have three, so I’d like to again reach out to readers to see if they are interested.

If you’ve already completed the program and know someone who may be interested, please provide them a link to my site. If you’re interested in learning about handguns and handgun safety, or are interested in applying for your Connecticut State Permit to Carry Pistols and Revolvers, this is the course you need.

You can find more about the course I offer over at the Handgun Safety Connecticut website. My classes…

  • Include a small group of six to 10 students.
  • Two nights, of four hours each instead of one, long eight hour day.
  • You get the text book (included) and read it before the class, helping to ensure you retain the information you learn.
  • Includes a very safe, hands-on introduction to guns with no ammunition present on the first night. Practice loading and dry-firing using “dummy” ammunition.
  • Lots of training aids.
  • Live-fire experience on the second night which is required to receive your NRA Basic Pistol certificate.

If you’re looking for testimonials from past students, I can arrange that for you.

More about the NRA Basic Pistol class

The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course – a prerequisite to apply for your Connecticut State Permit to Carry Pistols or Revolvers – introduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. This is not a concealed carry or self-defense program, rather you’ll learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, various pistol shooting activities and continuing education opportunities available to you.

This course is objective-based, not time based. That said, if you are applying for a Connecticut pistol permit, the state of requires an eight hour program including academic and practical (live fire) components. This program meets State of Connecticut requirements.

You’ll need to read the book prior to the first night of class, so you should sign up soon if you are interested. You can register online right now.

Excellent service to the community. Especially the shooting community.

Thank you for the comments. Honestly, I like teaching and teaching the class is one of my many “income streams” to help pay bills and save for retirement. If you know of anyone interested in the area – send them my way!
