No electronic flaws in Toyota cars – drivers stepping on the gas

Really, where does Toyota go to get their reputation back? The government and the media completely crunched Toyota over and over about unintended acceleration tied to an electronic flaw. Don’t forget Congress giving the Toyota leadership the business at hearings.

From Fox News.

Transportation officials and engineers with NASA say two mechanical safety defects previously identified by the government — sticking accelerator pedals and gas pedals that can become trapped in floor mats — are the only known causes for the reports of runaway Toyotas. Both issues were the subject of large recalls by Toyota.

Again, there was a previous issue with some Toyota cars concerning sticking accelerator pedals and floor mats. Toyota knew and was dealing with those issues, but the big firestorm was blaming an unknown electrical flaw which does not exist.

How much did this cost Toyota?

All I have to say about this – I have had a Toyota since 2003 and have never had an issue.  I just had to go out and buy a new car because some IDIOT decided to drive the wrong way on a 3 lane road and smash into us head on.  My Rav4 was totaled out and we walked away with only minor issues. I ignored all this crap about Toyota and went right back to the dealer and bought me a 2011 Highlander…and I love it.

Audi survived and so will Toyota.

Maybe a few more people will understand snafu on anything related to government or bureaucracy.

Maybe a small percentage of them will begin to understand that government is not the answer.

Guess I'm just an eternal optimist.

Mebbe the mucky mucks at Toyota should come back to the U.S. and sue our government for libel…can a corporation do that or is it limited to private persons?
