New York City will embrace the “heavy hand of government”

A statement like that is not optional. You can’t not accept it. You have to capitulate and embrace it when the new mayor of New York City claims he is not a free marketeer, rather he believes in the heavy hand of government. I’m not making this up.

From the New York Post.

Business leaders in the city are scratching their heads over recent remarks by Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio.

Describing how he plans to govern once he takes office next year, the mayor-elect declared flatly that he doesn’t believe in the free-market system.

At least Comrade Bill was being honest.

“Everything you heard about me is true. . . I am not a free-marketeer. . . I believe in the heavy hand of government,” de Blasio stated matter-of-factly during an hour-long presentation to some of the city’s biggest real-estate developers.

Hah! Business leaders were scratching their heads? These socialists tell us who they are and what they want to do and people really don’t believe them? Hey, 73 percent of the voters asked for this guy, so they can have em. This tyrant is going to be handed billions of federal dollars to use as he pleases. This is the problem. There should be little or no federal funding handed out to the states. I don’t want to pay for their free shit. (Excuse my language.)

Maybe he’ll take over all the Best Buy stores in the city to ensure everyone gets their free flat-screen TVs and other various electronics.

Grey is the new color for New York.
Soon in NY you will see: legitimate businesses flee the city; black market to expand; more gypsy cabs; NY become a safe haven city (that it isn’t already);? crime will rise exponentially; police will show armed forces on every corner, not just on the transit lines; the stock market will move; slums will expand, big time; the city will lose population and start to collapse, and; gangs will rule everywhere the cops don’t have a foot on the ground.
Grim, but the Comrades will have gotten their dream.

I won’t be going to NYC anytime soon.? We used to attend an occasional Broadway show, stay in a hotel and have a nice meal.? Maybe a day of Xmas shipping, the US Open and of course, a NYY game every year.? Not so much now.?
He can?spend other people’s money all he wants- it just won’t be mine.? Have fun NYC.

My idea of going to NY is going over the Tappan Zee Bridge and hanging a right up 87. NYC is my idea of a nightmare . . .

I suggest the a heavy foot on the gas pedal of the current residents of NYC with a brain (non de Blasio voters).? Flee before it returns to the inevitable abyss of a pre Guiliani NYC.

A liberal “utopia” in the remaking, much like reconstituting East Germany…

I remember looking from West Germany into East Germany and seeing miles of desolation and drab buildings, kind of like those miles of blah vertical ghettos adjacent 95.

      Exactly!

They will just put up new buildings next to 95 with Steve’s money. Then in 2 or 3 years it will look the same as does now and we can do it over again. <I saw that happen in West Springfield in the 60’s. People knocked holes in their walls so they could watch the neighbors TV or go to visit without going through the hallway.

My favorite movie is coming to life, “Escape from New York”, Kurt Russell playing Snake. Go Baby!
