New media points out AP Obama approval poll sample total fiction

Unbelievable. How does the Associated Press improve the people’s impression of President Obama’s approval numbers overnight? Completely change the sample and under-estimate the number of Republicans by half.

Old media journalistic malpractice under-covered, courtesy the new media … Ed Morrissey at Hot Air.

In a new definition of “outlier,” the AP reported that its latest poll from GfK Roper shows Barack Obama with a 60% approval rating in a survey of 1001 adults, with even his approval on the economy shooting past the 50% mark. …

[T]he AP report doesn’t include a link back to the survey’s raw data.  In order to find it, one has to go to GfK’s site for its AP polls.  The partisan breakdown in the sample is found about halfway through the PDF, and it explains a great deal about how Obama managed to get such a high boost in this poll while others showed shallow bumps that had already started to subside.

Go read Morrissey’s post as he has to be the one to point out the total fabrication of the poll sample.

    Steve,
You seemed to question my thinking on this subject?when I commented as to why Sarah Palin was not electable. Granted my responses were not along the logic line you wanted the comments to follow, but I think I answered the question. See my comments if you wish.

This post does not surprise me at all,?and I think we will be seeing?an increase in this type of reporting as they discover more and more what they can get away with.?This is a new time in America and the media has become the tool.

The media has gone from reporting the news to attempting to make it.

It was funny watching O’Reilly last night and lefty Leslie Marshall tried to throw in that Obama is doing just fine and no problem with reelection with a 60% approval rating, and he brought?her down immediately, stating the questionable sampling method the AP used.

Imagine the results without the skewed data collection!

Of course, for the record, we can’t say it is total fiction: they got the names right….
