More waivers: San Francisco now sees what is in Obamacare

Remember former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi’s (D. Ca.), famous statement about Obamacare…”we have to pass the bill before you can see what’s in it”?  Apparently many in San Francisco, the heart of Ms. Pelosi’s district, have now seen what is in Obamacare, and they are not too impressed.

First, as to waivers, as the end of April a total of 1372 waivers, covering some 3.1 million employees, have been granted from the current requirements of Obamacare.  This includes 221 additional waivers granted in the month of April.

A hat tip here to a blogger for a local Orlando radio station who had the patience to cull through this list and identify that a surprising number of these new waivers were granted to businesses in San Francisco, California.  And, a little bit of checking disclosed that San Francisco is the city where Ms. Pelosi has her district office.

So, take out your tour book, and follow along.

Among the new inductees to the waiver “club”, we have Blue and Gold Fleet, the business that provides cruises around San Francisco Bay; Campton Place, an exclusive hotel and the Hotel Mark Twain; Royal Motors, an owner of several local car dealerships; and, on the dining side, the Franciscan Restaurant on Fisherman’s Wharf, the Fillmore Street Restaurant and North Beach Pizza.  Heck, even the Infusion Lounge was able to get a waiver.

The list is much longer, but, hopefully you will get a flavor of how bad Obamacare is when businesses in Ms. Pelosi’s district are clamoring to be excluded from its burdens.

All kidding aside, what you need to understand about these waivers is that all 3.1 million employees covered by these waivers, and well as the thousands who will be covered by “waivers yet unborn” will lose their employer based insurance when Obamacare takes full effect in 2014.

Why, you ask?

The waivers granted to employers so far are all because of the fact that the employers could not afford the premiums for coverage with $750,000 annual limits per employee.  Does anyone seriously think they will be able to afford the coverage when, come 2014, there will be no annual limits allowed?

Thanks again SOS for making logic of the illogical.? Each and every person who likes their health insurance should write, not e-mail, but a hand written note to Ms. Sebilus and the President requesting a waiver.? Flood their offices with these individual request.

And yet the Dems (teachers,?Big Labor?and those on the ever expanding federal dole) are already lined up to pull the lever for The One.

If? Mrs. Clinton is supposed to be the smartest woman in the world, then Pelosi is – hands down – the DUMBEST.

The outrageous result of this devious, and, you may say, illegal, waiver-granting is that the majority of Americans will not even know that this has happened.? They will not hear this on the Lame-stream media because they are too busy watching Jersey Shore, American Idol, etc.? Stupid Americans will get what they deserve for their naivete and ignorance.

@ NH-Jim??? Some of us are aware of this disaster.? The hard part is?figuring out?how to get out of this mass of lemmings before we all go over the cliff.

Since Nancy didn’t know what was in the bill, I’m sure she has no idea waivers are being issued.

Doesn’t the equal protection clause imply a provision for equal protection from the government, ?bamacare in particular?

    @Dimsdale … “not no more.”

Now that they can see the bill, they don’t like?what’s in it.

I’m gonna give SanfranNan?much more credit than she deserves by saying I think she misspoke that famous quote. I think she meant to say,”We have to pass the bill?before they see what’s in it

    NOT!

I always found the effective date of 2014 laughable…if it’s such fabulous legislation and it had to be pushed through, why wouldn’t Obama be a man and stand by it and make it effective immediately instead of (God willing) after he’s out of office?? Well, if nothing else, the next republican president can use the dem lament that he inherited this mess from the previous administration.
