More debt for you and your children

Our Congress is not content spending at record levels, it now intends to break even their record levels of spending. The result will be that, not you, but your children or grandchildren will saddled with the responsibility of paying back this debt. It is unconscionable really, criminal.

Here’s the latest:

In a bold but risky year-end strategy, Democrats are preparing to raise the federal debt ceiling by as much as $1.8 trillion before New Year’s rather than have to face the issue again prior to the 2010 elections.

“We’ve incurred this debt. We have to pay our bills,” House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer told POLITICO Wednesday. And the Maryland Democrat confirmed that the anticipated increase could be as high as $1.8 trillion — nearly twice what had been assumed in last spring’s budget resolution for the 2010 fiscal year.

We incurred the debt … WE? Love that line, don’t you? Let me reword this for you lefties out there. Congress incurred the debt for their pet projects and favorite constituencies and now WE must pay.

But here’s how it all breaks down lefties, cause you will pay too. $39,344.30. That’s every citizen in the United States. That’s how much if the debt clock stopped today, you will have to make and hand over to the government.

Just when you thought it was bad enough when they abused the unborn with abortions, but now they are going after the born and yet to be born.  What they are doing, for their own benefit under the guise of "helping" America, is, in a word, a crime.

I would pay my portion of the debt if I could see Pelosi and Reid doing perp walks….

WSJ summed it up nicely in this editorial:  "More, more, more: watch what they spend, not what they say" (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704517504574590141313630308.html?mod=djemEditorialPage)

Best line: "Spend so much and run up the deficit to unprecedented levels, then turn around and claim that there's a fiscal crisis that can only be solved with higher taxes. They spend, you pay."

If it came down to which will kill us first, stratospheric debt ceilings or stratospheric carbon dioxide, I vote for the former.
