Mom says angel saved her daughter’s life

I love this stuff this time of year. I just wonder why its always this time of year. From WCNC: Click here to see the video. (H/T Hotair)

A Charlotte family says an angel helped their teen survive from her deathbed. It’s also the talk of the Hemby Children’s Hospital … Chelsea’s mother says two hours later the image of an angel appeared on a monitor near Chelsea’s bed. It came about the same time five days in a row. Colleen says it was confirmation. … “Either she was going to be healed here and be taken care of, or she was going to live with Jesus,” Banton said. The angel image and improvements to Chelsea’s condition, her mom says, were nearly simultaneous.

Good morning Jim, thank-you for posting this excellent uplifting story for Christmas. Truly it is a MIRACLE of God. God DOES send his angels Jim to help us. Also it is reminder of the power of prayer and faith.

Jim, what an outstanding story for any time of the year – at this time, it is extra special.

It reminds me so much of the many miracles that happened for my son, Spencer, back in 1988 – in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Hartford Hospital. There was no CCMC in those days. However, many of the same doctors, nurses and staff – now at CCMC – were there then.

We faced the same quandary the mother in this video faced many, many times. We were told that he wouldn't make it through the night, or the day – or the hour. Some felt that he really needed to be trached, but we felt that as an autistic individual – it would make it so much more difficult for him to ever learn to speak or otherwise express himself. We decided against that – and kept him on the ventilator for several months.

Each time we faced the toguh decisions – we decided to give him whatever assistance that the medical team could come up – that would make it better. Sometimes against very long odds. At least for me, I knew that he would make it – if he just got whatever help we could arrange for him – because of his very strong will to live – and help from above.

Spencer did make it. He is 25 years old, has a part time job, continues to love life and lives it to the fullest. He is very, very happy.

A number of naysayers said – he would never do this – or that….but he has and continues to astound those around him.

I truly believe that God has placed Spencer on this earth for a reason – and he will continue to look out for and over him – for a long, long time. Spencer's mission is far from complete.

People are nuts. What can you do. It's like these people the virgin Mary on a piece of toast.

Rick, I was touched to read about your son after the many conversations we've had. I know you've been through so much, but what a remarkable young man he is and what a stalwart and supporting father he has. That's a wonderful holiday miracle story to think about as well.
