Michelle Malkin to Juan Williams: We’re sick of your snotty condescension! Video

OK, Juan started this fight and Michelle ran with it as iI knew she would the minute Juan teed it up. Make sure you watch it all the way through. I can’t say if there will be long lasting hard feelings on Michelle’s part, but i can say there will be on mine.

The topic was the security leaks that many, including Democrats believed came from the White House to as Michelle said fluff O’s feathers, and moved on to Holder’s refusal to name a special counsel to investigate the leaks. From there it devolved into Juan Williams taking a whack at Michelle as a no nothing blogger as opposed to a real journalist like he, who goes out and tries to find out what top officials are really doing. That lit the fuse and well the fireworks ensued. Well worth more than one watch.

A couple things. As Instapundit points out it was the bloggers who stepped up and saved Juan’s sorry ass when he got fired from NPR. Two, the bloggers were the ones who pointed out the false Dan Rather Bush documents, led the way on Fast and Furious when the media ignored it, and were the first to dissect the crummy Obamacare law(see SOS) and on and on.

A point also driven home by Ed Morrissey:

But Michelle has the better of this argument, because while Williams sometimes works as a “real reporter,” most often he’s working as a commentator, as he was last night.  That’s not a mutually exclusive state for Williams — and it’s not for bloggers, either.  Journalism is anact, not a status or an office.  Plenty of bloggers do go out in the field, get their own reports, and publish them independently.  Sometimes, news agencies pick up on those reports (and occasionally don’t credit the bloggers when they do, which calls into question their ownjournalistic ethics).  One of my longtime friends in the blogosphere was kind enough to use me as an example:

Juan will long be remembered for these comments … so will Michelle’s retort. Congrats.

Condescension is the primary tool of the liberal “journalist”.? If the NYTimes hadn’t been fed that classified info, they never would have gotten it any other way, other than creating it out of whole cloth, which is not an unknown technique to them.? I notice that Juan didn’t talk about the fabrications made by the different networks, the Bush TANG debacle being a prime example.?? Or how they blackballed the Kerry Swiftboat controversy until they were figuratively punched in the face with it by the Swiftboat veterans.? Or more recently, how they are covering up for Holder by simply not reporting the current investigation into his role in Fast and Furious.
    ?
Yeah, that’s what “real” journalists do: subvert the country.

#1 – Juan Williams is usually a gentleman – he didn’t sound “condescending” just frustrated – and I’ve heard a lot of condescention from all sides of the political spectrum.? I may not always agree with him, but he’s a decent guy.
#2 – He is paid by?Fox to take a role as a “Fair and Balanced” opposition opinion.? Therefore he should be expected to “disagree” with the political views of most on Fox opinion programs.
#3 – who is the “we” Malkin is referring to.? She should speak for herself and they should both stick to issues not devolve into personal stuff.???I’m tired of people speaking on behalf of “the American people.” None of them have?ever asked me what I think!!!!???
#4 – Tired?also of people like Hannity and the jerks on MSNBC who just?stir up division for controversy and ratings.? ??

    ???

The “we” that Malkin is referencing are the bloggers who continually report the news that “journalists” won’t. She is known as “The boss” at many blogsites that exist due to her outstanding work.
?She was not speaking for regular folks as you imply.?

p.s. think the security leaks are treasonable and should be treated as such.? Have nothing in common with the Valerie Plane/Joe Wilson affair.

It is interesting how media industry entertainment talking heads like act superior to their guests. When a liberal’s argument is shaky they start out yelling. As if a loud mouth makes up for a lack of a substantive argument. A liberal’s formula for debate is to conjure “facts,” bend and distort reality, twist the other person’s words? and substitute reason with blather and bluster. All the while yelling. Yelling and interjecting, interrupting and carrying water for the Regime. Like a good little lefty media puppet should.
That the Regime leaked the national security information is certain; where else would such sensitive material come from that could benefit NObama?
Holder is toast. He is dry, stale, crumbling toast waiting only for the WH to burn him. He has the credibility of yesterday’s junk mail.

Jaun, you’re a Train Wreck called “undesired.”

  6. Tim-in-Alabama on June 14, 2012 at 11:52 pm

Until bloggers parrot what Obama operatives spin out every day, they can’t be considered professional journalists. Sniff, sniff.

Hmmm…security leaks.? Anyone else remember Geraldo Rivera being kicked out of Iraq in March of 2003 for giving the 101st Airborne Division location?? I guess that he’s a “real reporter”, too…drawing pictures in the sand. ? Anyone who compromises our national security should be treated as a criminal.? Now, let’s go drop off Holder & Obama at the border of Kuwait, too.

  8. gillie28 on June 15, 2012 at 6:23 am

There are any amount of sleazy journalists and bloggers covering the entire political spectrum.? My point was that Juan Williams is not one of them.? Because he’s on Fox he just has more exposure to conservatives and is an easy target.? He IS a sterling journalist; has written brillian books and done a documentary on civil rights.? Think there are bigger, more vicious, “fish” in the journalistic sea to go after.

In my opinion, Michelle Malkin is very?smart, knowledgable and?gutsy.? However, she?let personal ego?take over and made an unnecessary, emotional attack.? If she had just laughed off, or ignored,?Juan’s comment about bloggers not being real journalists (which IS open for debate) it would have had a more powerful effect, and shown some class.

    • JBS on June 15, 2012 at 7:03 am

Gillie28: I am sure Juan is a really nice person. However, to people like me who don’t watch television or have cable or satellite, he came across as a Regime tool. And, condescending.
Perhaps a small banner under his picture advising of his liberal leanings would be sufficient to forestall further criticisms: “Juan Williams: Paid Liberal Journalist”

    • Anybody but Obama on June 15, 2012 at 7:28 am

Gillie what I am getting from your posts is that Juan can say whatever he wants and its okay but we can’t call him on it when he’s wrong.

  9. gillie28 on June 15, 2012 at 9:45 am

We all see what we want to see and that’s not at all what I posted so don’t put words in my mouth.? Political partisanship works both ways and is usually destructive.? There’s a difference between “calling” someone on?an issue?when they’re wrong, and just being plain rude and nasty.? Actually, his comment about bloggers was quite legitimate.? The internet has become like the wild west – some good dudes in white hats, many bandits and thugs and reputational murderers.?

  10. Anybody but Obama on June 15, 2012 at 10:26 am

I didn’t put words in your mouth just my opinion as to how it looks to me, but Juan stuck his foot in his mouth and Michelle made him regret it. He’s had a year of people tip toeing around him and now he shows that he thinks he’s an elitist.

  11. gillie28 on June 15, 2012 at 10:32 am

he’s just earning his paycheck at fox.

  12. PatRiot on June 15, 2012 at 9:41 pm

Juan got off topic and baited Michelle from the start.? And for him to come back at her for being off topic is just bad form.
All he did was distract and delay (read: chewed up air time).? ?He totally missed the point (or deflected the topic)?about people’s lives being put in jeopardy.??Worker bees recognize incompetence in?government, company management, etc?when they see any of the 7 D’s: Delegate, Delay, Deny, Deflect, Denegrate, Defer, ?Distract.

      What?? No “disrespect”?? 😉

  13. JBS on June 17, 2012 at 7:08 am

This is a perfect example of why I don’t watch cable/satellite/antenna broadcasts. I would like to hear what liberals have to say. (Know thy enemy) I can’t watch rude, bombastic, yelling, with eye-rolling that is supposed to be, what, an exchange of ideas?
Juan may have had a point, but his behavior cancelled any hope of credibility. It was like watching two people confronting a petulant adolescent who couldn’t make his stupid parents understand his point.
Why do Liberals have to YELL and talk-over others to make a point? Are they pointless?

  14. gillie28 on June 17, 2012 at 11:16 am

JBS, you asked, “Why do Liberals have to YELL and talk-over others to make a point?”? Let’s be fair, BOTH sides do that – especially Hannity!

    • Lynn on June 17, 2012 at 3:15 pm

Which is why I love The Five! Juan is there sometimes and they rarely yell. Most interesting is that Bob Beckel does not always carry the liberal message. he is dead set against telling people what to eat, and unabashedly Christian.
