McCarthy: The Grand Jihad – How Islam and the Left Sabotage America
I’m thinking Jim should have our friend Andrew McCarthy on this week during the big radio show, but here’s a precursor video overview for you, narrated by Bill Whittle.
McCarthy’s book was released in May 2010 to high praise and the paperback edition came out in mid January. Honestly, I have only had time to get through the first 100 pages or so in my Kindle edition, but I’ve found I’m learning a lot about the subject, especially with the so-called Arab Spring that has turned into partial devastation around the Middle East.
The real threat to the United States is not terrorism. The real threat is the sophisticated forces of Islamism, which have collaborated with the American Left not only to undermine U.S. national security but to shred the fabric of American constitutional democracy—freedom and individual liberty. In The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America, bestselling author Andrew C. McCarthy is the former federal prosecutor who convicted the notorious “Blind Sheikh” and other jihadists for waging a terrorist war that included the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. In his national bestseller, Willful Blindness: A Memoir of the Jihad (Encounter 2008), he explored government’s conscious avoidance of the terrorist threat, which made the nation vulnerable to mass-murder attacks. In The Grand Jihad he exposes a more insidious peril: government’s active suppression of the Islamist ideology that unabashedly vows to “conquer America.” With the help of witting and unwitting accomplices in and out of government, Islamism doesn’t merely fuel terrorism but spawns America-hating Islamic enclaves in our midst and gradually foists Islam’s repressive law, sharia, on American life. The revolutionary doctrine has made common cause with an ascendant Left that also seeks radical transformation of our constitutional order. The prognosis for liberty could not be more dire.

What in Islam is compatible with by our constitutional definition of freedom?
Nothing.
I just pray that there will arise a few good men to lead the many good people out of the dark age. Tho it seems unlikely at this point. Until then we will have to withdraw & keep them isolated. With perhaps a occasional foray to destroy the evilest of t he lot.
A Muslim believes in Islam and the Koran. Anyone who is not a Muslim is an unbeliever, an infidel, and is not considered an equal. Islam is a religion of intolerance. Jihad is the way to conquer the infidel. Killing an infidel is a ticket to Paradise. Terrorism is an accepted way of Jihad.
The avowed goal of Islam is to spread the teachings of the Prophet to all countries. Not just establish mosques, but to establish Islam as The Religion in all countries. Christians and Jews are considered heretics and must be destroyed. All of those things that Westerners consider hallmarks of civilization, art, music, games, technology, etc. are considered evil and are banned. All learning has to be for the benefit of Islam. There is no kite flying!
Forget equality of women.
It is an anachronistic religion, rooted in the Dark Ages and determined to stay there. Remember, if you are not a believer, you are a target. Then, your only function is to be dead.
JBS, well done but not complete. You must be more than a Muslim you must be in the “correct” sect. Hence all the infighting between Sunni and Shia. Therefore there will never be peace until all the “wrong” Muslins are either dead or converted to the “correct” sect.
Then there are the Baathist Muslims (a la Saddam Hussein) and the Wahhabi (spelling?). Both sects are violent to Westerners, with the Wahhabi branch out of the Saudis preaching constant jihad on all non-believers. They don’t play well with any but themselves.
There is just so much to know about Islam and Muslims, none of it is peace, love and tolerance toward others. True, they do like to kill each other. That is part of the quagmire that is Afghanistan and Iraq. Hey, if the Russians couldn’t subjugate Afghanistan, and claim a warm-water port, who can?
McCarthy wrote two books. There are entire treatises on Islam, terrorists, opium trafficking, abuse of women, etc.
I didn’t even get to Sharia Law . . . WOW!
