Malloy backs Fleebaggers … calls it “part of the game”.

Unbelievable but true. OK, maybe not unbelievable. Democrats hang with Democrats, but hasn’t Connecticut’s Governor just green lighted shirking one’s elected responsibilities throughout his state too? Most towns and committees in New England have long had quorum rules governing even the smallest items and this Governor says … do what you have to do. Legislators gone wild!

Here’s the bite from CNN’s Candy Crowly program on Sunday. I must say its his cavalier attitude toward the minority’s tyranny over the will of the majority, clearly stated in the November election that kind of sets me back. But I report, you decide.

Here’s a partial transcript for the video challenged in our audience.

CROWLEY: Governor Malloy there was an election. They elected a Republican legislature and a Republican governor of Wisconsin. And when he proposed something, the Democrats took off so they didn’t have to vote. Does that seem like it follows the democratic process to you?

MALLOY: You know, Abraham Lincoln jumped out a second story window in Springfield to avoid a vote in the Illinois legislature to prevent a quorum from taking place. There are quorum rules. And that’s part of the game.

Do I think the Democrats look great in this? No. Do I think what’s happening in Wisconsin is a travesty? The answer is yes. We should not be attacking people’s rights to join organizations. It’s un-American, frankly. And so I think people use the tools that they have, and in this case preventing a quorum taking place is one of those tools.

CROWLEY: Let me ask you both one quick question, sort of locally, if you will. You have asked your public unions to come to the table to negotiate increased pension.

MALLOY: I have.

CROWLEY: And they have not done so. In fact, they have said, now, you know what, the math doesn’t work out here that he’s telling us, we can’t give up that much money. Are you willing to get tougher if you can’t get them to the table by asking?

MALLOY: I’ve made it very clear that in the absence of these concessions we are talking about laying off thousands and thousands and thousands of people and destroying our safety net. So either everyone is going to come to the table and we’re going to be successful down this particular road, or we’ll have to take a different road.

But we don’t start taking that different road. And I think that most state workers in the state of Connecticut want to be part of the solution, not constantly be blamed as the problem.

Remember it wasn’t that long ago when Paul Begala echoed the President’s words “We won, you lost”, and when Tea Party folks were vilified for attempting to “overturn” An election. And all they did was work to change the next election, which they did.

Not to mention that the Democrats seem to be violating Wisconsin Senate rules.

As for the last portion about concessions, Crowley is right. There have been no concessions. I doubt seriously the Governor will get much and certainly nothing that will address the pension and health budget long term.

Malloy laying off thousands, and thousands and thousands of jobs?  He ought to be a white house press secretary if he can tell lies that big!

If Malloy continues with this BS,  then pretty soon NO ONE will be able to afford to live in CT.

I am sure that if the unions thought any of this were true, they would be having their own little Wisconsin like temper tantrums here too.

Malloy owes his election to the unions, does anyone think that "we the people" are going to get a fair shake.

Time to call the dems the "party of no" me thinks.

Every conservative or libertarian or independant living in Ct. knows all to well that "Elections have consequences".

It is most revealing that Malloy thinks it is a game.  And it really is, for Democrats.

In this last special election in the 36th, it definitely was a game for the Dems. They doctored videotapes of a debate, we actually have copies of both tapes that were on YouTube. They made bogus phone calls to voters during dinner time using the Republican caller ID and using a Linda McMahon robocall, when the campaign did not use one. All comments on a blog were removed because the comments told of upcoming lawsuit activity caused by the Democrat who will hold both the First Selectman position and the General Assembly position. I've said it before and I say it again, Republicans are "babes in the woods". We can't compete with the sleaze because we don't think that way.  South Carolina looks better and better.
