Lupus Fundraiser photos from the New England Air Museum

Tonight was a great night! We’ll post more details and photos as we get them, but thanks to a bunch of people who contributed their time, money and resources, Jim thinks the total raised during the event will be more than $75,000.

The highlight of the evening for all was hearing from Jim, Erin Kotecki Vest (via Skype), Anna Mirabello, Stephen Anderson, Davina Hernandez, and Marilyn Sousa (founder of the Connecticut chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America) who told us about their life stories and living with Lupus. They are all strong people with good souls who have stepped up to speak for other Lupus patients who may not be able to speak themselves.

Special thanks goes to the sponsors of the event which was held at a great venue – the New England Air Museum.

  • CBS Radio in Hartford and WTIC News Talk 1080
  • JohnsonBrunetti
  • Manelley’s Catering
Thanks also to the businesses who contributed to the silent auction.
  • UCONN Sports
  • Mohegan Sun
  • New Britain Rockcats
  • Quinoco Cadwell Oil Company
  • Security Technologies Inc.
  • Zephyr’s Treasures
Of course – the volunteers! More than 30 of them came together to ensure everything ran smooth.

We had professional photographers at the event, and we’ll work to get some of those photos included with an update. Click on a photo below to see a larger size.

Thank You!

BTW, Jim, the fundraiser was a great idea. However, your idea to only put Emergency Room doors on the Center. Not so good!

Sounds like everybody had a good time, I’m sorry I couldn’t go; it sounds like my loss. But more importantly, a good cause was supported.

People can always support this cause. I’m sure the Lupus Foundation will continue to accept donations. Go to their website. You can also go on their walks. Walk for LupusNow. There are 3 in CT Fairfield County, MAy 6, West Hartford, May 20 and the one I will probably go on New Haven County at Savin Rock Beach Sept 30. Sorry Steve, didn’t mean to advertise. ? I just love to take walks and like to go with lots of people.
