Los Angeles negotiating with Occupy LA organizers – Mob Rules

Goodness grief. What do you even say to something like this. If they make any sort of offer, what makes the city think the OWS crowd in Lost Angeles would not come back and demand more free stuff? And really … Office Space?

From the LA Times, with a hat tip to Phineas at Sister Toldjah.

Los Angeles officials have offered Occupy L.A. protesters a package of incentives that includes downtown office space and farmland in an attempt to persuade them to abandon their camp outside of City Hall, according to several demonstrators who have been in negotiations with the city.

… city officials have offered protesters a $1-a-year lease on a 10,000-square-foot office space near City Hall. He said officials also promised land elsewhere for protesters who wish to farm, as well as additional housing for the contingent of homeless people who joined the camp.

They may start to eat their young…

The proposals were received with a mix of excitement, anger and disbelief among protesters, many of whom did not know that members of the camp were in negotiations with city officials.

“I don’t appreciate people appointing themselves to represent me, to represent us,” one woman called out during the assembly. “Who was in those meetings?”

Learning a lesson? Some of the OWS protesters in Lost Angeles are simply out for the glory and free stuff.

The city should also make note of the protesters who are not at all happy some of their crowd is out to back-stab them. Those who are not involved with negotiations will not depart the camp even if a deal is done. The city has to know that right?

Probably not. Maybe they can sweeten the deal with a couple of red, Swingline staplers.

Maybe they can start handing out those Staples red, “EASY” decorative desktop buttons.? Because really, this was THAT easy.

Why don’t they lease that space at the same attractive rates to small businesses that would create jobs and tax revenue for LA?
    ?
I never say this sort of negotiations with the TEA party.? Oh wait: they didn’t “occupy” or defile areas of the city.

Love your idea Dims, but this is LA.? How can you expect anyone there to have any logic.

It was a purely rhetorical question in light of the fact it was Mexifornia, er, Calexico, er, California!!

Geeeze, why is the city of Los Angeles in negotiations with these bums? ?Isn’t there a rule of law that means ANYTHING at all in LA? ?Don’t the citizens of the city deserve better then this? These vagrants should be vacated ASAP… and if they won’t leave voluntarily then I’m sure the police department knows how to do their job. ?Stop giving these freeloaders a pass!?

Well, if it is from the LA Times, it MUST be true. Fox never tells the truth (sarcasm, as if you didn’t know)

I’d say it was a clever way to divide and conquer the over-all group.? Once the city offers incentives such as farm land, business space, assistance in other related interests the group will become heavily involved in hierarchies.? They’ll have to ratify, majoritise, socialise, commecialise, and prioritise? efforts.? Since they are all so “connected” emotionally and politically there should be very little friction between individuals ….right?
    ?
LOL.? Watch this spot.? Next a union will step in and do card checking.

The result of this should be interesting. How does the old saying go, kinda?

If you lie down with fleas, you wake up with dogs!?

    ?
This “Occupy” thing is so old. As a continuing saga it just keeps getting weirder and weirder. I still don’t understand why these “protesters” weren’t arrested, booked and run out of town.
(O.K., O.K, The DNC through the WH and the DOJ told the cities, “Hands-off ‘Occupy’ Whatever!”)
In any event, I am soooooooooooooooooooo done with this “Occupy” protest garbage. It’s not even good street theater. The “protesters” have proved themselves every time to be fragmented, crass, selfish and now venal. UGH!!!!
    Next, please!

A continuing distraction, heavily and blatantly supported by Democrats, paticularly ?bama, designed to direct attention away from ?bama and the Democrat’s fecklessness and incompetence.? Seriously, where is the Senate budget???? Where are all the jobs promised by the “stimulus” spending our grandkids will be paying for?
    ?
Time to occupy Washington D.C., starting with the office of the president.

    And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But we’ve proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.
