Krauthammer: Trump is the Al Sharpton of the Republican party

During the All Star Panel last night, Bret Baier was asking about the GOP’s “most discussed” list when it comes the 2012 Republican ticket. Haley Barbour, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann and The Donald were mentioned by Charles Krauthammer. CK took quite a swing at Donald Trump. Video after the jump.

Krauthammer…

Trump is the Al Sharpton of the Republican field. Provocateur and clown.

AP at Hot Air is also writing about the statement.

Trump is more of a concern because he specializes in a fringe issue that’ll put the rest of the field on the spot, but then again, it’ll also give them an opportunity to position themselves as comparatively more mainstream by disagreeing with him.

The Primary will determain  if we can put a conservative in the White House.  That said, I believe it is imperative that we all get behind ONE choice and not spread our vote around.

A Barbour/Bachmann ticket would be interesting.   Barbour was an excellent leader of the RNC and has a good track record in politics, including post Katrina issues.

There is a certain value to letting Trump/Palin be lightening rods/human shields for lefty attacks and running trial balloons.  The serious candidates can use that information to construct a message that resonates with the independents/TEA party/grass roots and take back our government/country from the socialist/progressives that are infecting it.

A fair and free country is the anathema of the progressive/statist/liberal/socialist.

Dims, you drove a stake into many, many people’s hearts. I like a free and fair country too, not like all those “progressives/statists/liberal/socialists”.

Love CK!!! Right on, with everything! Dimsdale, I think I like your ticket.  But, admittedly, I don't know enough about Barbour and there still might be someone out there better, Mitch Daniels? Your point about  Trump/Palin lightening rods is appealing, it just might help. I just pray they do not win the primary.

Charles, do you mean Trump is a race baiting, tax evading, drug dealing liar?
