Krauthammer on Gaza blockade and Israel’s options

A clear and concise opinion piece from Charles Krauthammer listing out the options Israel has had during the last 50 years.  Forward defense, then active defense and more recently with the blockade, passive defense. If none of these defensive approaches are acceptable, what’s left?

Do read the full Krauthammer piece in the Washington Post, but here’s a taste.

But, if none of these [defense approaches are] permissible, what’s left?

Ah, but that’s the point. It’s the point understood by the blockade-busting flotilla of useful idiots and terror sympathizers, by the Turkish front organization that funded it, by the automatic anti-Israel Third World chorus at the United Nations, and by the supine Europeans who’ve had quite enough of the Jewish problem.

What’s left? Nothing. The whole point of this relentless international campaign is to deprive Israel of any legitimate form of self-defense.

Øbama's idea of defense is the same as that given to new Victorian brides: lie back and think of England!

Of course, Øbama's position requires a firm grasp of both ankles…

Krauthammer sweats wisdom…. Israel has always been Pro-active and that is why they have saved themselves from destruction. We need to take notice in this country to their methods and damn the people who complain.  This administration is openly inviting trouble and then they blame Bush. 2012 can not come fast enough.
