Not Surprising: Jackson Lee and Schakowsky won’t condem what Bill Maher said about Sarah Palin
The video speaks for itself. Feigned outrage. Liberal talk show hosts can call conservative women sluts, c&^ts, whores and t$#ts all they want, while contributing millions to the campaigns of Democrats and super PACs at the same time. No fallout, they paid their dues.
Does this make the words Rush Limbaugh used acceptable? Not at all, it just shows the clear hypocrisy on the left. The “war against women” is really the war against conservative women. Here we have the refusal of Reps.Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) and Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) to even comment about what Bill Maher said.
Maybe Maher is different because he’s on cable and has “no sponsors”? [rolleyes] Claim that all you want, but they won’t repudiate Maher simply because he’s a media representative for the statist left, and a willing attack dog for them. The icing on the cake is Maher’s $1 million donation to the Obama Super PAC.

Update: President Obama’s political guru David Axelrod attacked Romney and others for not repudiating Limbaugh, but has no problem heading over to Maher’s show and being a guest in the coming weeks.

Democrats don’t care about women, per se; they only care about women’s votes.? This proves that.
It’s obvious the Tea Bagger trying to intimidate these women doesn’t want people to have access to birth control and sex changes and clean energy.
That language is not necessary, and adds little value.
Not speaking out about misogyny IS making a statement.? It’s approval through silence.? Bill Maher is a liberal puke who says whatever he pleases with NO apologies and NO consequences and then follows it up with a million dollar check to the Obama PAC.? That makes Obama guilty of misogyny by association because he accepted said check.? To use language that a liberal will understand:? “It isn’t *faaaaair* that Schakowsky won’t demonize Maher the way she did Rush.”

Maher is a COMEDIAN he called Palin and Bachmann the “c” word. They are PUBLIC FIGURES. (I think his comedy goes too far, I hate that word).
Fluke is a private citizen, a student. Rush called her slut, prostitute, ‘I want sex tapes, etc” for 3 DAYS, 9 HOURS!
How anyone with a mother, sister, wife, daughter can defend him is beyond me.
As the president said, he had to speak out because he wanted his daughters to grow up and not to feel intimidated to speak their mind in a democratic forum. Seems like many want to stifle democracy by condoning humiliation and the intimidation of those who are brave enough to speak their views on an issue.
Sandra Fluke made herself a public figure by testifying in front of congress.? Anyone who puts themselves out there at a microphone automatically becomes a public figure, especially with NEWS coverage of their little soiree…
And as far as I’m concerned, Rush has a little comedian in him, too.? Besides, the left always calls him nothing more than an “entertainer”.? Are you now saying he’s a serious news broadcaster?
And you’ll see very few people here defending Rush’s use of the word “slut”…most of us agree that he went too far.? But where’s the outrage for Maher’s use of the worst possible word you can call a woman?? Oh, that’s right…he directed it toward Palin, so that makes it okay.

First of all, I am not a dittohead. I have never cared for Rush Limbaugh or his humor. Ditto, I have never cared for Bill Maher and his humor.? Second, I have not only spoken out at Town Meetings, serving and speaking as a BOE member for 2 years and at Town Halls, But I have also spoken out at the General Assembly in CT. I am not a public figure (you can google me to check)? Third, who could possibly ignore what you write? It usually provides me with hours of mirth. But I would never call you the c word or the s word, but I will say you have a double standard. But you are in “Double Bubble” company, Representatives Lee and Shakowsky show a shocking case of double standards.
I hand over almost half of my annual wages to the government, effectively working for the government, yet I receive no benefits and no big fat pension.? And when I stand with Tea Party people near an AFL CIO rally, the union folks were nasty and foul mouthed.? Then they walked around capital building stomping through flower beds while screaming, “Tax the Rich!”? I’m tired of hearing crybaby issues about the “slut” word when the left uses it so often and when I’m called all sorts of names by union roustabouts who work less than me and tell me to shut up and keep working.

Sammy, You bring up a good point. I find it amusing that MSM uses the term War on Women constantly. I carefully read Steve’s post he never mentioned any war. Frankly it is media hyperbole.? I think all conservatives are saying, that there is a double standard about? PUBLIC FIGURES using derogatory terms about women. The Liberals are never asked to apologize and the Conservatives are always asked to apologize. As I have said before, everyone can say anything they want about anybody but they should suffer FAIR/EQUAL consequences.? Isn’t that what President Obama wants Fair/Equal suffering?

It is the term WAR on Women. It is absolutely disgraceful for the media to minimize the pain and suffering of our troops and their families. Their pain, suffering, death, disfigurements are from REAL War. To all media, STOP the HYPE! How about asking for solutions for REAL problems not stirring up hatred between people. Sammy, so glad you asked me about this. It was in quotes, to me that means he doesn’t think it is a real war either. He is using the term the MSM ( different from blogs) uses to describe this continual double-standard disparagement of women. That being, BTW, the true point of his post. Also want to stress, Steve has more than proved his respect for our troops. MSM not so much!

As for Rush, as the libs always say he’s an entertainer, first and foremost he’s shotting for ratings to get sponsers to get money. Someone once said Controversy Creates Cash. Is what he said allright? I don’t know, is the constant destruction of Sarah Palin on nearly a weekly basis on Saturday Night Live or the Daily Show from 08…

The reason they have testimony from private citizens is just that…the people who live in congressworld in DC become out of touch with what is happening in American society today. The statement that if you go to DC to testify you immediately become a public figure and are fair game for the Limbaughs and O’Reilly’s is moronic. If she was one of the conservatives the Rebublicans admit to testimony on this bill there would be a post here lauding her as a heroine. Because she decried the hideous Blunt/Rubio amendment, all of you feel she deserves being slandered for 3 days. despicable.
BTW, the R’s vowed to resubmit this bill after it was defeated. They dropped that idea after the outcry from their constituents and some R’s are making statements that they regret voting yea for it.
