Hope and Change for … well hope and change.

The responses from these young people probably are not surprising. Their expectations sufficiently vague and setting the bar sufficiently low. Matthews asks, what are their hopes on this inaugural eve? Their hopes are for … well … hope? Oh … and that Europe doesn’t hate us anymore.

    So, the one answer you chose to target was from a ~14 year old?  Sounded to me like the the others were valid.  Really reaching, Jim… Reaching.  And, yes, you can hope for a presidency to inspire more hope in people.

    A superior mesage than to hope, would be to encourage those young uns to get off their posterior and get a job.  Success comes from those who work hard, not those given false visions of grandeur. 

    Hope accomplishes NOTHING.  aka: I HOPE my team wins.   Hope has nothing to do with success.  Hope is the premise that an inactive thought will bring about desired results.  Wrong, very wrong.  In this classic axiom, which of the following is most aligned with hope?

     a: Lead

     b: Follow

     c: Get out of the way

     d: Follow or get out of the way.

    The answer is D.  Obama is encouraging folks to get D's.  Class Dismissed.

    The line between shallow and ignorant has been permanently blurred by the Obamaroids.

    Parroting useless platitudes and campaign promises achieves nothing, and shows that these people (not just "fourteen year olds" either.   I see it in college too) are woefully uninformed/misinformed by the selfsame media that worked so diligently to get the man with the thinnest resume you can imagine elected to become the president.

    Maybe we should save the celebrations for a time when he (do I have to capitalize that now?) has actually achieved something.   Personally, I hope he does, because when he loses, we all lose.  The asinine, lockstep march towards socialized ("universal") medicine has been proven to be a relative failure compared with our system.  Why not learn a lesson from the countries where it has been tried and failed?   Anthropogenic global "warming?"  A total scam.  Bringing India and China up to our standards will yield more net greenhouse gas cleanup for far less than the extremely expensive and economically destructive attempt to clean up this country a few percentage points more.  But BO doesn't believe that.

    Maybe he should use that Harvard education to read up on some of these topics before he rushes headlong into them.
