High school parent points laser at goalie of opposing team

What possesses a father to do this? In Boston, a parent of a high school hockey player pointed one of those pen lasers at the opposing team’s goalie during the third period when the score was tied 1-1.

How embarrassing for the kids.

Winthrop beat Medway-Ashland 3-1 on Wednesday at Larsen Rink.

The score was tied 1-1 in the third period when the father of a Winthrop player was caught pointing the laser at the Medway-Ashland goalie.

It’s kind of like when you look at the sun and then you look away you see that spot and you can’t see for a couple of seconds. You shake your head and try to get it out of the system and just keep focusing, but it’s difficult,” Medway-Ashland goalie Kathryn Hamer told WBZ-TV.

Winthrop assistant superintendent Lisa Howard went into the stands and ordered the parent out of the arena.

Winthrop petitioned to play the third period over again, but the request was denied. Life is almost never fair, but when your own parent screws you over in public … and your team wins, that’s pretty devastating to both squads.

Actually, the damage done to the retina by the coherent light from a laser can be permanent.? The parent that did this should be brought up on assault charges at minimum, and the goalie should have his eyes professionally examined.?? At the laser wielding parent’s cost, of course.

What kind of a parent does this sort of thing?

    A very sick one.

An assault charge should be brought against the fool.

What kind of a parent is this monster? What has this “adult”taught their child? It’s OK to cheat. It’s ok to maim competitors. Win by any means. Oh God, I hope, the child does not go into politics. We have enough cretins advising candidates. I don’t even want to comment on the “parent’s” occupation. Please note Sammy, I did not pick a party, both sides are guilty of this behavior.

I know it’s Hockey but that’s reckless endangerment of a child at least! Throw him in the slammer!
