Halo Slipping – “The Thrill Is Gone”

Jim Geraghty pointed this out … so … I watched. Here’s what Jim wrote over at National Review:

I can hardly believe what I’m watching on MSNBC right now. Chris Matthews is almost critical — no, not even almost, he’s flat-out critical of President Obama on the economic front.

Howard Fineman of Newsweek says Obama has been “grim and a little distant at the same time … Tim Geithner hasn’t inspired any confidence anywhere, as far as I can tell.”

Matthews: “He seems like Barney Fife to me.”

Eugene Robinson: “I actually referred to him as Doogie Howser, Treasury Secretary, and I think it’s a little unfair.” Much laughter ensues.

Here’s the video … with editing for brevity. My favorite part is where Chris thinks Obama should go away for a few weeks and learn the economy. Ha!

The thrill’s gone. Oh wait … no it isn’t.

It is clear to me that President Obama's administration has intentionally booted the handling of the economy.  As Rahm Emmanuel has said, a crisis is an opportunity.  A bigger crisis, an even bigger opportunity.

By tanking the economy, President Obama can say that this was all in the works under Bush.    Later, came about eighteen months from now,  he can point to the miraculous recovery that he has engineered.  In the meantime, our freedoms, our wealth, our high quality of life, our security, will have been stolen from us.

President Obama (and the Democrats) don't feel that the people will push back.   They believe that they will listen to talk radio (for now), chat on the internet (for now), and do a lot of complaining (whining and moaning).  After that, the administration does not believe that the citizenry will do anything.   It is time to prove them wrong.

Rick, there is a growing sense that more and more people are saying, "enough is enough", starting with Rick Santelli (the 21st century answer to Paul Revere and Sam Adams) in Chicago last week and with a growing "Tea Party" movement, expect the President Obama White House to be taken by suprise this year.

Congratulations Rick.Of all the dumb comments made by people on this blog

you just topped everyone.Oboma is tanking the economy so he can take credit

      Rick,

Upon further reflection I have decided to hop on board with your line of thinking.

The next thing Oboma will do is to start losing the war so he can blame that

on Bush and then when we have a democracy in Iraq he will take all the credit.Rick,

thanks for sharing your wisdom and sorry I was so harsh with my initial response.

The "tingling" running up Matthew's leg has been replaced with a wet spot running down that same leg.

At least something will put out the Obama fire in his pants….
