G.W. Bush approval rating average was 37% in second term
Just a reminder. President Bush’s (43) approval average during his second term was 37 percent, reaching a low point of 25 percent sometime during the fall of 2008, right around election time. The main stream press had totally and completely bought into the Bush Derangement Syndrome by mid-2006 when his approval rating was around 40 percent. The man was blamed for everything.
At what point does the main stream media start giving President Obama a hassle about his approval rating? Buried deep in an AP story from Oct. 9, we learn Obama’s approval rating is now at 37 percent. The same as Bush’s second term average.
Most Americans disapprove of the way Obama is handling his job, the poll suggests, with 53 percent unhappy with his performance and 37 percent approving of it. Congress is scraping rock bottom, with a ghastly approval rating of 5 percent.
My question in the second paragraph is rhetoric, because we all know the main stream media will hold the water for this president and avoid comparing approval numbers to Bush 43 at all cost. That would be a fireable offense for certain.

The very fact that they bury the story is tacit evidence that they are heavily biased, and burying it actually helps to buoy his rating, which means it is probably lower.

I also like how, when they refer to the exceptionally low rating that Congress currently has, they only show a picture of Boehner, not Reid, as if the Senate did not comprise one half of Congress (and is really responsible for the shutdown).? CBS did that yesterday, and I heard that MSNBC does it routinely (hearsay, because MSNBC acts like Ipecac on me).? They only report on the Republican ratings, failing to note the Congressional Dems, and Harry Reid’s in particular, similar low approval ratings.
It’s all bad for everybody, including the President.
Too bad for everybody BECAUSE of the president and his lousy policies and the complicit press.
And fuel prices were a masturbatory fixation for the media during the GWB era- “Texas Oil-Men” was the mantra. ?Now we’ve got the burden of Obama-Care on top of high fuel prices, but the media isn’t blaming Obama for how the little people are having to pay more for everything- including healthcare.
Isn’t it time to dust off the oft used “FAILED PRESIDENCY” signs?

As I remember, Obama’s campaign slogan was “. . . to fundamentally change America . . .” The lefties all bleated their acquiescence and cheered the coming benefits. Time has proved that the democrat version is fatally flawed and has failed in a most epically.
Now many are NOT liking the “fundamental change(s)” that the regime instituted and the disaster that Obama’s policies have inflicted on the nation.

I was just in Utah where more than a few people who had been erst-while Obama supporters were now down on the prez, his handling of the economy, CongressCritters and politicians in particular.
BLM is a favorite topic of complaint but with the parks closed — and, I thought the TEA Party would get the blame(!) — the Senate democrats and the prezzy got the heaviest censure. Even their governor got the message and used state monies to open the national parks and pay the people who work there so the tourist-reliant economy there wouldn’t suffer as much as Obama wants. Right thinkers, those Utahans.

Sure thing, Dimsdale just put the blame on a selected few. Congress (and that means both houses) have a “ghastly approval rating of 5%”.
If the shoe fits…..?? ?bama and Reid are the owners of the shutdown and all the spiteful, malicious, unnecessary and ridiculous closures that he ordered, not to mention the liberal press projecting all the blame on the Republicans and the TEA party.? I didn’t see any complaints when Bush was (and still is, by ?blamer) blamed for EVERYTHING, even the recession that accompanied the election of Democrat control in the House and Senate in 2007.

At some point in the distant future, the Left Stream Media will admit that Obama really was the architect of all this, er, umm, unpleasantness.
HairyReed and his Senate cronies will enjoy explicit censure and full disclosure once this long, national nightmare, colloquially called the Obama Regime, will be a bad memory — the national debt will linger on long after the monies funneled to the cronies is spent and they are lusting for more. (Which begs many questions . . . )

Extortion is in the eye of the beholder.? What have the Republicans refused to fund?? ?bamacare has, predictably, been taken out of the equation.? If anyone is extorting the U.S., it is the liberals with their totalitarian health care program, other “entitlement” programs and non stop spending.? Look at Reid now: he wants even more money once he gets the debt limit raised yet again.

Your comparison omits the fact that the Democrats have passed almost ZERO funding relative to the Republicans.? That makes them the owners of the partial shutdown and the extortionists.? They are the ones stamping their feet unless they get everything, repeat, everything they want.? And the weak kneed Republicans will likely give it to them, thanks to the media arm of the DNC.
