Forget principles, will Obama visit help Coakley or hurt Obama?

This kind of crap is why the political elite has terrible favorably ratings. It’s not standing up for your principles, rather purely a political game. If Coakley and Obama are on the same political page, Obama should step out and support her, but Rham Emanual is measuring the polls to ensure action does not hurt Obama.

Crap. Pure political elitism. From the Boston Globe with a hat tip to Hot Air.

“If Scott Brown wins, it’ll kill the health bill,” Democrat Barney Frank, D-Mass., said, underscoring the stakes of Tuesday’s special election.

Mindful of such consequences, several Democrats said that an appearance by Obama in the state before Tuesday’s special election was increasingly likely. White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel had placed calls to top Massachusetts Democrats to weigh the costs and benefits of such a visit.

Playing a role from a distance for now, the president taped an automated phone call asking Massachusetts to vote for Democrat Martha Coakley, and promising “She’ll be your voice and my ally.” It was the same message he made in a Web video e-mailed to his supporters on Thursday.

If it’s the right thing to do, can’t it just be the right thing to do? Morrissey continues…

There are two problems with an Obama intervention now.  It would signal to everyone just how desperate Coakley has become.  And while Democrats might cheer a little retail campaigning by the Campaigner in Chief, his presence would serve to remind people of Coakley’s ongoing absences from retail campaigning.

I’m not sure I could handle the job of running a campaign. I’d just want to do the right thing and support the right people.

Exit questions … Is Martha Coakley begging Obama to come into the Bay State? Will the president’s advisers insist – to the Coakley campaign – that Obama come up to fix the problem? If Coakley does not want Obama to come up for a few hours … does she even have a say in the matter?

Elmer Fudd, er, I mean Barney Frank doesn't get it: that is the reason Brown is so popular!

The visit reeks of desperation in the Coakley camp.

I say "If Coakley wins, it'll kill the USA".  The Dems will run roughshod over the country and the economy.  Could invading Huns and Mongols do any worse?

Teusday Jan 19 is the Big one.  A knight in shining armor slays the dragon. A new Holy day of Obligation for the Church. I would like to be in Waterloo NY , but its a long drive. Can anyone  in Seneca County NY put a flag on an Old Veteran's grave?  The fact Obama is fighting this campaign as Haiti relief fails shows that the only disaster Obama cares about  is Martha  Coakley. He has ditched Haiti to his wife. She could barely deliver a speech in Copenhagen! I  hate to say this , but every marxist  dictatorship reaches  an intentional  purge of human life when there are too many dependant people on its hands.  There is an appearance of relief , but its looking more and more like just a charade for the media cameras. Too bad Haiti does  not hold the 60th vote for Obama's  healthcare bill.
