Final push for Salvation Army Holiday Store today!

Today is the final day of the WTIC Salvation Army Holiday Store charity drive. For those of you have chipped in – THANK YOU! Ray Dunaway and Jim Vicevich will be doing their shows this morning – from 7 a.m. to noon ET – at the Holiday Store location at Avon Old Farms Hotel. How about stopping by and chipping in $20 for 20?

Update: The drive is complete and the Holiday Store event collected almost $200,000 for the Salvation Army. The links below are still active as of 3:30 p.m. ET, but I’m not sure how long they will be up. Thank you!

This is the twentieth anniversary of the WTIC Holiday Store program, and we are asking for you to step up and donate just $20. Are you up for the challenge?

help-fill-kettleThis year, we’ve made it even easier for readers and listeners to donate to the Holiday Store. Of course you’re invited to stop by today in Avon – it’s the last day – but you can also donate online which only takes a few minutes and is super-convenient.

Twenty dollars for twenty years. We thank you for your continued support of the WTIC Holiday Stores to benefit the Salvation Army!

Holiday Store auction items
To make this year’s auction even bigger and better we have teamed up with Lux Bond and Green to pair incredible jewelry and gift items with one of a kind “experiences”. Things you can’t put a price tag on.

The experiences will include packages from the Boston Red Sox, UConn Athletics, Boston Celtics, Rock Cats Baseball, Wolf Pack Hockey and the TPC River Highlands. Listen live each day for information on these “priceless experiences” and a schedule for the auction.

What is needed
As always, we collect: non-perishable food items, new unwrapped toys and monetary donations.

Where are the stores this year?
You can donate at the following locations:

Avon Old Farms Hotel – Directions
279 Avon Mountain Road
Avon, Connecticut 06001

Homewood Suites by Hilton – Directions
65 Glastonbury Blvd.
Glastonbury, CT 06033

What are the hours for the stores?
Both Holiday Stores are open today (December 24) from 7 a.m. to noon. Ray and Jim will be broadcasting from the Avon store at Avon Old Farms Hotel today until noon.
