This mother and father were prepared and took action when dad saw two armed masked men grab their daughter on Monday night in St. Louis. One thug is dead, the other was shot multiple times and is in custody, and the family is OK.
On Tuesday, President Obama was interviewed through Tumblr and praised the confiscatory gun-control actions Australia took when they required law-abiding citizens to turn in just about every semi-automatic pistol, rifle and shotgun appropriate for self-defense.
Oh I’m sorry, I got a little off track there … back to St. Louis.
Police say it began with two men approaching a seventeen year old girl in the street, taking her at gunpoint, and forcing her into her home on Newport near Neosho in the Bevo Mill neighborhood. The girl’s father shot and killed one suspect and injured the other.
It was about 11pm Monday when a 17 year old girl who lives in the home was getting something from her car. Two men, both with guns, grabbed her. The [sic] began to push her back into the home with a gun to her head. Her father, who says he was visiting the girl and her mother, saw the gunmen and pulled his own weapon. He says he had no choice but to fire.
I know this is an individual anecdote, but gun-control activists – including Obama- use anecdotal evidence every day as they continue to demand more restrictions on ownership of firearms. As a matter of fact, they must use anecdotal evidence exclusively for the simple fact gun crimes have dropped in the United States. From the not so NRA-loving USA Today in December 2013 (six months ago) with my emphasis.
Violent gun crime has dropped dramatically in the past two decades, but the majority of Americans think it’s more of a problem now than ever, according to a Pew Research Center study released Tuesday.
According to the survey, done in March, 56% of Americans believe gun crime is worse today than it was 20 years ago. And 84% believe in recent years, gun crime has either gone up or stayed the same — when the reality is that it has dropped significantly.
The rate of non-fatal violent gun crime victimization dropped 75% in the past 20 years; The gun homicide rate dropped 49% in the same period, according to numbers Pew researchers obtained from the Bureau of Justice Statistics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The media, gun-control activists and politicians are driving the “it’s more of a problem now” narrative (lie) to suit their own agenda. The Associated Press has the nerve to write this headline.
Obama reflects on gun control’s failure
What the hell? How can a 75 percent drop in gun crime and a 40 percent drop in gun homicides during the last 20 years be labeled as a failure? Oh, I know, it has failed because they have not confiscated most if not all the guns like they did in Australia. Back to the AP post.
“My biggest frustration so far is the fact that this society has not been willing to take some basic steps to keep guns out of the hands of people who can do just unbelievable damage,” Obama said.
No developed nation on earth would put up with mass shootings that happen now once a week and disappear from the news within a day, Obama said — no nation except America.
You liar, you damn liar. You hate America don’t you?
Looking back to the original story, let’s just all agree Obama and gun control activists are working towards complete confiscation of all guns that can be used for self defense in the United States. That is their goal. Obama’s praise of Australia’s confiscation proves his intent. They would be fine with this father not having the ability to defend his family using a gun. The almost-certain death of the father, mother and daughter would be tragic, but outcomes don’t matter … it’s all about the intent for gun-control activists. You see, they care.
Both of the St. Louis thugs who kidnapped the daughter, using her as a human shield as they tried to invade the home were felons who by definition can not even rent a gun at a supervised gun range let alone own a firearm. Does Obama think these thugs would turn the guns they have access to if the government passed a law? Delusional thinking.
