ESPN says Rush is out – Gateway Pundit details smears – Update: damages?

It really is outrageous. Right from the first charge we posted Monday. The formula is familiar … spread lies … here … and here … and my favorite, here. Then put pressure on the NFL management to act, responsibly, or face the same fate ….. raaaaaaaacist. The end result … Rush is being forced out.

Rush Limbaugh is expected to be dropped from a group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams, according to three NFL sources.
Dave Checketts, chairman of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues and the point man in the Limbaugh group attempting to buy the Rams, realizes he must remove the controversial conservative radio host from his potential role as a minority member in the group in order to get approval from other NFL owners, the sources said.

Three-quarters of the league’s 32 owners would have to approve any sale to Limbaugh and his group. Earlier this week, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay predicted that Limbaugh’s potential bid would be met by significant opposition. Several players have also voiced their displeasure with Limbaugh’s potential ownership position, and NFL Players Association head DeMaurice Smith, who is black, urged players to speak out against Limbaugh’s bid.

Ultimately, the sources said, Checketts must reconfigure his group and find another investor to make his bid more viable.

Perfect. And if you are a conservative too … just to remind you of what they think of you ….. raaaaaaaacist!

Added by Steve: I’m wondering about damages. If CNN – and many other media outlets – posted this quote up, which at this point seems to be flat our slander, and as a result, Limbaugh was dropped from consideration, what kind of damages could we be talking here? As I note in the comments section below, it seems to be open season on conservatives and it’s making me sick. Gault. Looking. Good.

Very sad. Expect gay bigots to push Rush off the Miss America judge panel next. I wonder if Rush has been getting these juicy offers just to set him up for a personal smear attack. Elite society offers him some nice respectful opportunity to draw Rush out of his comfort zone for no other purpouse than to publically humiliate him. This is a Lord of the Flies moment when the fiendish kids push the  morally conscious piggy  character off the cliff . Obama has truely dawned a new age of racial barbarism. Beware of social elites bearing unexpected gifts and honors Jim !

Remember, if you are a conservative you can be attacked. It's perfectly acceptable to discriminate, fire or humiliate a conservative these days. The only way to stop it may be to spend mucho dollars in court and get huge judgments from these so-called media types who target their own hate speech to destroy freedom, liberty and capitalism.

Come to think of it, that won't work either. THROW ALL THE BUMS OUT of office and bring conservative principles back to government. Then, just let the natural course of capitalism make the current liberal media all go broke.

Jim, this is an OUTRAGE! Racism is alive and active, but it is coming from the liberal side. Even if it is 2009, the race card game is ALIVE and ACTIVE! Instead of uniting the nation, President Obama has done nothing but dividing the USA all because of the race card being played in the most hateful way. Do not be suprised if Rush does end up suing those who slandered his good name. The lesson here is that we freedom-loving Americans are going to have to stand up to those who want to divide us.

PS: It looks like I am going to be looking at dropping my support of the NFL. College football, here I come! :)=^..^=

    GO UCONN!!!! :)=^..^=

I would like to say that this news disturbs me on many levels. Being a black conservative male is not easy but nonetheless I  will not be discouraged by the Liberal democrat blacks including my family. I feel that this is unjust that a sea of lie would prevent Rush Limbaugh from living out his dream to be an NFL owner. I'm very disgusted and won't support football as much as I use to and refuse to watch any games the RAMS play. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are not black leaders. They strive off of the race game. They make me sick to my stomach. When are black people going to wake up and figure out that the democrat party is holding you down in the system? When will you stop letting community organizers dictate your life? When will you stand up on your own feet and take control of your family and stop living in poverty and try to better yourself? Why don't you NFL owners grow some balls? How could you let M. Vick back into the league a man who doesn't respect Gods creation of man's best friends?  I'm sure when Buress gets out of jail he'll be back as well. We need to use common sense instead of listening to the mainstream media like CNN,ABC, and NBC. They don't fact check stories and spread lies especially if it's about a great conservative leader. I really hate what this country has become. All hail the king Barrack Insane Obama.

Let me correct you here!  CNN will fact check, but only when you are a comedian doing a skit that is not favorable to "Dear Leader"

Double PS: What Steve just posted, in all the years that I have been listening, since 1991 to Rush, NEVER ONCE did Rush ever said anything about slavery about slavery and safe streets at night. CNN and anyone else for that matter who has slandered Rush better be ready to be taken to court by Rush.

The threat of racism is nothing more than a manipulation tactic. That is what happened here. People wanted to manipulate the NFL and they very easily did this with the threat of racism.

Read my post on the topic, it explains everything. https://radioviceonline.com/racism/
Same crap happened to Imus. Same crap will continue to happen.

    • Anne-EH on October 14, 2009 at 5:03 pm

Well political correctness gone amok bigtime!

    • Dimsdale on October 15, 2009 at 6:07 am

Yep.  Crying "racist" is like crying "fire": people react first and (maybe) think later.  That is what the liberals are counting on, putting Rush on the defensive in lieu of actual facts or real reasons to oppose him.

I can't say I was too thrilled to hear the sports guy on Ray's show this morning, calling Rush a "homophobe" or "against women in power" for calling some of them "feminazis".  I wonder if he has an actual clue, or should stick to what he purports to actually know about.   Sports, I think….

I love Sheila Jackson Lee asking us to imagine a person being eliminated from the running of a beauty pageant for admiring a person who has a different political opinion than a judge.  How about trying to imagine a person being eliminated from consideration for purchasing a football team because they have a different political opinion than a congresswoman who abuses her power by making a speech on the house floor?  Hard to imagine it happening, but I'll try…

    • Jeff S on October 15, 2009 at 5:24 am

This is the congresswoman who planted a fake doctor at one of her town meetings this past August!

  9. mikefvernon on October 15, 2009 at 7:11 am

Rush should sue the NFL for discrimination.

Interesting that Rush's quote wasnt sourced…More interesting is this- every NFL player had a dream and sacraficed their time, body and energy to achieve it. Now they reap the rewards of that success…Who is a bigger proponent of the American Capitalistic Dream than Rush (and Jim, of course)??  This reaks of democratic fear.
