Empowered: Women fight back against pharmacy robber demanding drugs

Feel good story of the day. A nut came back to rob a pharmacy looking for drugs for a third time. The store manager/pharmacist and employees were better prepared this time.

I’m very happy this did not turn more violent and everyone knows who the criminal is. That said, in this instance the robber’s hands were in clear view and even though he wrote down he had a gun, there was no brandishing of a weapon.

These women know how long it can take for law enforcement to show up. It sounds like history was a lesson, and they better prepared themselves. Good for them. Note that in many retail establishments, these employees may well have been fired for putting up a similar defense.

The store manager used not your normal pepper spray, rather a large compressed bottle of bear deterrent pepper spray that can shoot the stuff more than 30 feet.
