Amazon will collect Connecticut sales tax starting in November

I’m not familiar with the commercial fishing industry in New England, but I thought this was a pretty big story. The New England Fishery Management Council drastically cut the amount of cod commercial fisherman can harvest offshore.

Obama stimulus – Administration stopped providing results 18 months ago

Part of the $800+ billion stimulus law required the Executive Branch provide detailed reporting concerning the results – good or bad – of the program. After multiple reports indicated “saved or created” jobs were costing upwards of $300,000 each, the Obama administration just stopped providing the reports.

Democrat Senators: Wait, there is a medical device tax in Obamacare?

If find it pretty much unacceptable, but completely normal, for 18 Democrats to “all of a sudden” realize there is a medical device excise tax of “only” 2.3 percent in the Affordable Health Care Act. Of course, they found out about this “hidden” tax in December, after the election was over.

Obama to Boehner: “We don’t have a spending problem”

Federal government borrowing $4.8 billon per day

The age of $1 trillion-plus deficits continue. So far the federal government has overspent, resulting in the need to borrow $292 billion in October and November. We’re on track for a $1.75 trillion deficit for the current fiscal year.

$200k – $500k earners pay double average tax rate compared to $50k – $75k
