He’s a dreamer … let him go

Union representatives for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Border Patrol are claiming leadership and management is requiring line officers to release – without charges – illegal aliens who may fall into the DREAM-Act category. As usual, law enforcement can’t ask for any papers, even after they have been arrested for crimes.

As a reminder, the DREAM Act is not law, the president King Obama just made it up and implemented it.

If you add up the following charges, you would think this person would qualify to be deported or at least charged. Within a couple of days, an illegal alien (strike 1) in El Paso was arrested by sheriff’s deputies for what is basically domestic assault (strike 2). During the assault, he blocked the victim from calling the police for help (strike 3). He was taken into custody, and during a transfer of some sort, the guy – all 245 pound of him – tried to escape custody (strike 4), but only made it a block before he was captured. During the chase, it’s reported an ICE law enforcement officer was injured (strike 5) and is now on restricted medical duty for two weeks.

The press release from the union, which I must say I take with a grain of salt since there is obvious spin here. My emphasis is in bold.

“ICE managers didn’t even question the criminal alien but instead ordered that he immediately be released in accordance with the President’s new immigration polices stating that ICE’s mission now is to identify aliens and release them,” said [Chris] Crane [president of the National ICE Council].  “As an agency we’re just checking boxes in an effort to release everyone we can.  Law enforcement, public safety and common sense are all out the window; officers are under orders to ignore the danger signs, even when they witness a possible felony assault of one of our own officers.”

Here’s a video from a Senate press conference, currently linked to from Drudge Report.

From Fox News this morning.

In a startling allegation, the president of the union representing Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers claimed illegal immigrants are “taking advantage” of a new directive allowing some undocumented residents who came to the U.S. as children to stay in the country. Union boss Chris Crane said the policy ends up allowing illegal immigrants to avoid detention without any proof — particularly so-called “dreamers,” or those illegal immigrants who would benefit under the “DREAM Act” proposal, which Congress has not passed but the administration  has partially implemented.

“Prosecutorial discretion for dreamers is solely based on the individual’s claims. Our orders are if an alien says they went to high school, then let them go,” he said at a press conference with GOP senators. “Officers have been told that there is no burden for the alien to prove anything. … At this point we don’t even know why DHS has criteria at all, as there is no requirement or burden to prove anything on the part of the alien.

“We believe that significant numbers of people who are not dreamers are taking advantage of this practice to avoid arrest,” he said.

What I get out of this is that a suspected illegal alien who beats up a family member and prevents them from calling for help is being treated very differently than an American resident who does the same. So much so, their get-out-of-prosecution-and-jail card is the statement “I went to high school”.

What a genius policy for the Obama administration. Now we have ICE agents and Border Patrol officers risking their lives on a daily basis only to wonder if some mid-level manager in the Department of Justice will demand the people they caught be immediately released without question.

Now that’s great leadership!

This Catch-and-Release is the most irresponsible thing I have heard of yet. Why should any LEO bother arresting anyone who even remotely looks Hispanic? Talk about reverse profiling! Conversely, it’s open season on conservative white folk.
    ?
Another sad event stemming from Obama. The Zero is killing this country.

Instead of passing a law, King ? considers the laws “unnecessary” and “unfair” , and deems that the laws? shall be unenforced, a de facto edict passing the DREAM act.?
    ?
Nice.? This is the new ?bama Doctrine: any law the president feels is unneeded shall be neutered through non enforcement.
    ?
Maybe the next president should deem ?bamacare too burdensome and unnecessary for the country and simply refuse to enforce it.?? Quid pro quo.

Go to “americasvoiceonline.org” and see all of the complaining that “I’m over 30 and the law isn’t fair!”. ?Just wait until dreamers greet you on voting day. ?And just wait until Obama laws start twisting against your rights as a citizen- like to not answer the door…?

The union members should ignore their managers & file suit if reprimanded.

“Now that’s great leadership”, now I know you are being sarcastic and of course I agree with your sarcasm. But, this is more than showing no leadership, this is chaos. Thanks KingO.

This makes me really cranky & sick…cannot understand how Obama is getting away with aiding and abetting illegal alien criminals and yet he can claim to be our “leader”.? It’s all going to hell in a hand basket.? Straight to hell.? He_needs_to_go.? The sooner the better.
