Dodd Bill: Why the new big consumer protection department is a bad idea
Anything that creates a new government bureaucracy is a bad idea in my mind. The feds have trouble getting the ones they have to work properly. No where has that been seen better than in the financial meltdown.
But tonight on Gretta’s show, Senator Judd Gregg breaks it down so everyone can understand the consequences. The Dodd bill proposes a new super financial consumer protection agency that purportedly be looking out for the interests of the little guy. Gregg on the other hand thinks that would be disaster and we agree.
Listen to him explain why and then listen closely as he explains that Dodd originally agreed to the much smaller Gregg plan … and then suddenly changed his mind, after the White House stepped in.

"social justice" & "banking" used in the same sentence ?… I see disaster up ahead!!!! I really wish Dodd were running again…I am going to miss him soooooooooooooooo much!!!
No, not really. I just wish he'd stop DOING things before he goes for good.
Putting Dodd in charge of creating a consumer protection agency and the legislation around it is like putting Charles Manson in charge of community relations: just not a good idea.
