Do as we decree…

… not as we do.  A long-time standard of the political set has reared up out of D.C., yet again.

“As lawmakers make a big show of forcing auto executives to accept just $1 a year in salary, they are quietly raiding the vault for their own personal gain,” said Daniel O’Connell, chairman of The Senior Citizens League (TSCL), a non-partisan group. “This money would be much better spent helping the millions of seniors who are living below the poverty line and struggling to keep their heat on this winter.”

Amazing — in most place out in the “private sector” (read: REAL WORLD), an approval rating in the low twenties to high teens earns one a pink slip, not a raise…  You’d think Congress was in the UAW.

When the UAW is sucking up to YOU, you know that you have a better deal than even they do! At least in the UAW, you had to have a real job for a little while at least! Pols like Dodd would be relegated to what they are capable of: sweeping up the floors (preferably in an orange jump suit).
