Did He Laugh?

Silly I know … but the Wanda Sykes thing is worth at least one post. Here’s video whacking Rush Limbaugh. Funny? Ummm, no. But the real question is … why did the President laugh? Hmmm. Or did he? Some say he was just being polite. Polite? You judge.

Here’s Press Secretary Gibbs reponse to this yesterday. Hot Air has a nice commentary on this … I am with them.

I laughed at the "20th hijacker" joke, I'll be honest.  It was a shock humor laugh, like "wow, I can't believe she just said that."  The organ failure joke, though: that was too far.  I didn't see the humor in that one.

My mom thinks Wanda Sykes is "edgy" (and she means it in the bad way).  I pray she never accidently finds herself in a comedy club.  No lie, I was literally in the DC Improv club Saturday night, only blocks away from the Correspondent's Dinner.  All I can say is "God bless free speech".

If you were offended by Wanda Sykes' comments on Saturday night, then I'm sure you've been offended by the comments Rush Limbaugh has made in the past.  What's that, you say?  You love Rush, even though he's said hateful things about other people?  Lemme check the definition of "double standard" again…

To Brian Partridge – Can you give us a specific comment of Rush's that is hateful.  The left constantly berates the right – calling them racists and hateful – yet it is the left that constantly makes hateful remarks and constantly bringing up race.  Let's see – Bill Mahr wants to blowup two greedy rich pigs at the super bowl.  Sarah Palin is warned not to go to NYC or she will be gang raped. The double standard that you all enjoy makes me sick.  The left are the most hateful, racist people – yet they constantly project their hate and racism on everyone else.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought this dinner was about poking a little fun at the president and others in the audience? Then, the president gets a chance to do the same. I don't remember previous speakers taking shots at people who were not there.

The prez is really afraid of Rush.   Maybe it is because Rush can think on his feet without a teleprompter.
