Correction Request: NBC just said you can buy guns online and at gun shows without a background check

I don’t have the video, but Matt Lauer from the Today Show was just interviewing an NBC talking head and the talking head inferred – again – that you can buy a gun at a gun show or online without a background check. This is an outright lie when it comes to online purchases, and stretches the truth on gun shows.

The discussion on NBC occurred about 7:08 a.m. ET. Along with the lies, NBC keeps mentioning the “90 percent” of Americans who think background checks should be expanded. Well, when you keep telling them over-and-over that people can buy guns online without a background check what the hell do you expect? These are not mistakes, these are outright lies and misrepresentations to support a political agenda.

I’m not going to explain this again, I just want everyone to know the media is lying to you. I’ve demanded a retraction from Lauer. We won’t hear from him, bu the low-information voters suck this stuff up.

Typical main-stream media tactics. ?They choose to narrow the narrative in a blatant attempt to misguide their audience, steering the agenda their way. ?I wouldn’t doubt that Laur knows the real truth, though he wouldn’t care one bit about that. ?These people lie for a living so we shouldn’t be surprised when we here things like this. ?You can be otherwise heartened to know that these people continue to lose viewership.

Holy Cow, Steve. Matt speaks at 7:08 AM and you have a post up at 7:24 AM. Brings a whole new meaning to Breaking News. Don’t get the Twitter clock though, 11:19 AM? As to lies, this administration and their minions NBC promote being fair and equal constantly, what exactly is fair about lying?

      Twitter clock must be GMT.

There is a shred of good news here: 99% of people watching Lauer at this time are committed Lefties (or just should be committed?).? He’s convincing the already braindead.

Speaking of whopper lies:? Yesterday our brilliant Governor (Dannel PEE Malloy) actually stated on some talking head show that a background check was required to board an airliner.? I wonder how many travelers know this?

Perhaps the Governor was referring to the Computer-Assisted Passenger Prescreening System (CAPPS).

    • Steve McGough on April 8, 2013 at 4:27 pm

No, CAPPS is not a background check at all – ?far from it. If Malloy did use the term “background check” he has no idea what he’s talking about. All CAPPS does is compare your name and address and a couple of other pieces of information to a specific terrorist watch list database, which is notoriously screwed up … think Sen. Ted Kennedy being denied boarding a flight multiple times.

Josef Goebbels must be smiling.?? Expect another load of manure at the University of Hartford today.?

My guess is that the deception is deliberate and all demands for retractions will be ignored.

for some reason I think Matt’s reaction, along with the hand’s reaction that holds his leash will be a simple
    “NOT INTERESTED”

?We know all the liberal media simply says what they want to say. Facts have nothing to do with the news. Remember when OB said the people in Newtown were shot with automatic rifle. Who called OB on it? they simply add their puke to the libs in charge.

Matt Lauer is pulling in 25,000,000 for a B.S. degree in communications; for that kind of money, he’s not objective or unbiased. ?He either toes the party line or goes out and gets a real job with a drastic pay-cut!

You can pay for a gun online from a licensed dealer without a background check, but you can’t have the gun sent directly to you. The selling dealer will ship ?the gun to your local licensed dealer, where you’ll fill out the appropriate paperwork for the background check before you can take possession of the gun. Most dealers charge about $25 for the service. I didn’t use the term “buy online” because that would indicate a completed purchase, but the deal isn’t complete until the paperwork’s neat.
