Conservative fiscal responsibility – RIP

I’m not a McCain fan, but I’m pulling the lever for him in about four weeks for a few reasons that I’ve mentioned here at Conservative247. But when the Republican candidate spouts off that he wants to use $300 billion in federal tax dollars to go out an buy homes we’ve got a problem.

What’s even worse is McCain suggesting the secretary of the Treasury should buy all of these houses, sell them back back to the people who could not afford them – at a lower price. Actually, it’s not a suggestion, it’s a policy statement.

Ugh. This sucks.

The Republican presidential candidate announced during Tuesday’s debate that he would order the federal government to spend $300 billion in federal funds to buy the mortgages and allow financially troubled homeowners to keep their houses. …

“I would order the secretary of the Treasury to immediately buy up the bad home-loan mortgages in America and renegotiate at the new value of those homes—at the diminished values of those homes—and let people be able to make those payments and stay in their homes,” he said.

Rush Limbaugh said it best today on his show sometime during the first hour. We’re going to have to suck it up, vote for McCain and Palin, drag Yosemite Sam across the finish line and deal with him – and his cabinet – after the election.
