“Climate change”: show me the money Update: Hillary to the Rescue

This would be comical, were it not so tragic. On Monday, the leaders of the G-77 walked out of the Copenhagen summit dealing with “global climate change”.  They only left for several hours before returning, but, why they left is telling.

First, you need to know what the G-77 is.  It is composed of countries labeled “developing”.  Among those developing countries are China, and India.

The plan at Copenhagen is for Europe and the United States to send money to the “developing” countries, so that they will spent that money to implement clean energy technology. Sure, we all know that those “developing” countries won’t spend the money on anything even remotely related to “clean energy”, but, I suppose, hope springs eternal in the minds of  Al Gore advocates.

It seems that the European Union has decided that Europe will give $10 billion over the next 3 years to the G-77 countries.  So, if all members of the G-77 will get billions, why did they walk out?

The G-77 countries are more than a bit annoyed.  They maintain that if  “global warming” is as bad as Al Gore says it is, then they must have at least $100 billion over the next 3 years to fix it.

I’m guessing, randomly of course, that our President while in Copenhagen this Friday, will commit your tax dollars to make up the remaining $90 billion “ransom” demand from the G-77 countries.

Perhaps China would be willing to accept its share of that money as a partial offset against the interest payments we owe them for subsidizing our massive national deficit.

Nah, probably not.

Today in Copenhagen, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton pledged $100 billion to the G-77 countries…bless her little heart.  Well, actually, she pledged your money, but what the hey, a billion here a billion there.  Who is counting anymore. 

Well, that should make the G-77 happy, right?  Here is what Sudanese diplomat Lumumba di-Apling, the chief negotiator for the G-77 had to say:

This is a good signal, but it’s still insufficient.  We need more money.  [emphasis supplied]
