CK speaks: Obama solidifies the Democrats as party of big government UPDATE: Obama video plus transcript

Worth the listen … not much commentary needed.

Just to set this up … the young President spent 30 minutes talking about investments (spending) on education and high speed rail or something, and less than 10 about cutting the deficit. Krauthammer sees it all for what it is.

UPDATE: Now that the show is over I thought I would add one video clip from the young President’s speech that I think illustrates CK’s point. Here he is calling for a whopping savings of … drum roll please … 40 billion dollars.

Here’s a link to the entire transcript of the young President’s SOTU address. When the President finally did get around to talking the deficit … about 40 minutes in, he warned Republicans not to  cut anything he likes, and he breaks out the human shields to defend big government.

I’ll put up a couple Paul Ryan bites in a separate post, but here’s all you need to know. Another record deficit.

A new estimate predicts the federal budget deficit will hit almost $1.5 trillion this year, a stunning new record … The new estimates will only add fuel to a raging debate over cutting spending and looming legislation that’s required to allow the government to borrow more money.

Let's make sure what we're cutting is "excess" waste? So regular waste is okay; excess waste is bad?

If putting so much money in Education worked, we'd have students to top all the nations. We could do much better educating our children by evaluating our teachers and keeping the excellent ones, regardless of tenure. We build Taj Mahals for our children, they do not need the excess to get an education. Stop wasting time on sex education and Global Warming and Kumbaya stuff. Teach them real world skills. For God's sake, Stop the Spending!

Barry to US: we don't have no stinkin' spending problem!
