As promised: Obama speech in Ireland

I am posting this section, as I said yesterday, not so much because he truly knows what the Irish immigrants contributed to America. I don’t. But because what he says is true. Irish immigrants, like my great grand parents, faced enormous odds and discrimination, yet have succeeded. This speech encapsulates that well, and deserves a look.

I remember hearing stories from my Irish Mom about how Irish immigrants were forced into slums and denied work … and yet they fought through that and became a bedrock of American growth and prosperity. Photo op? Sure. But these are words worth noting.

Too bad he does not believe a lick of this.? How on earth did the Irish prosper without welfare, section 8 housing, food stamps, cell phones, cable television, education, and a blatent discrimination based on the country of heritage?

Oh yeah, it was called hard work in a free country that allowed people to BETTER THEMSELVES, not a government hand out and a new law each day to ensure?taking from one group to give to another…? If only this could be a message that the president himself believed.

Will he be running as the first “black Irish” president in 2012?
    ?
Being part Irish, does this mean that I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage, or for fuel anymore?? 😉

Like Clinton, O’s taking the show overseas because he’s desperate.? The Irish hope O’s visit will inspire tourism because they’re desperate!? I wish you’d posted the toast to the queen because that’s the 3rd leg of the stool!!!? The English are cynical enough to realize they’re being used like the faux Greek columns in the ’08 campaign…? The queen is there simply as window dressing for a pathetic narcissist who’d like to think it’s all about him!? He hates the English, he sent the Churchill bust back, he said the French are our closest allies, but there he is!? I’m more impressed with the patience of the English than I am with this wanna-be revolutionary, bridge-burning, vacillating cream-puff who’s changing his stripes because he wants to get re-elected. ? Don’t let Katie Couric tell you otherwise, Obama is desperate!

This guy is a real goofball! He’s in Ireland first to pay homage to his Irish heritage… yeah, right! And then he makes a fool of himself in front of the Queen and the rest of the world. What’s the next trick going to be for this bozo? God save the USA!
