The site is not broken.
I was right- I voted Mythology in the poll!!!!!
So getting elected on the basis of your race makes you a hero? It doesn't take much to be a hero anymore, does it?
OK, I cheated…sort of.
Saw this on Jim's iphone last night at Fresko's.
But….that would have been my guest, really.
The plan is not for Obama to be an American Hero…he is something else?
OMG. Sorry, didn't mean that.
Now we have raised this President to the level of a HERO simply on the basis of race? Give me a BREAK! Have we forgotten what Dr. Martin Luther King has said, that we should judge others on the basis of charactor and not the color of one's skin?
It must be remembered and said, often: Mr. Obama is 1/2 black and 1/2 white. A truely diverse nation would embrace this, instead of being superficial and skin deep. Character is most important here. A bit more than half of us voted for him based on faith and hope, the other half did not. Respect for him is of the Office of President only. The rest he needs to earn by his actions and character.
Anne: character is now a media manufactured quality of a candidate. If the media likes you, you can do no wrong. If they don't, you get whacked.
Apparently, they manufacture qualifications for the job too.
Dimsdale speaks current reality. The media is influencing the definition of character as it sees fit. Question: Is their influence based on real power or is it manufactured? Either way, we the people can redirect that influence/power. If we say "Two sides of a story is news, one side is propaganda" enough, they may return to being fair and balanced. Or, if we ignore them completely, their power goes away. signed, Empowered American.
