AFL/CIO Economist Ken Blackwell to Cavuto: You’re an a##hole

Not really sure what to say here. This interview got nasty in a hurry. Blackwell tried to make the case for even more government spending because the last trillion dollars generated jobs, just not enough. Cavuto tried to point out the nonsense of it all, insults started to fly and what happened next is pure platinum TV.

Cavuto starts it all off with a simple question, if the first stimulus didn’t work (and it didn’t), why do another? Blackwell starts talking about how bad it would have been if it were not for the stimulus, throws in a little “it’s Bush’s fault” for good measure, and it’s off to the races. Cavuto insults Blackwell’s economics degree, Blackwell takes a whack at Cavuto’s intelligence and it all ends with “Oh, you’re an a##hole”. Who could ask for anything more?

Seriously, the point Cavuto was trying to make that trillion dollars did not generate many (any?) new jobs, rather just keep state and city workers on the job. Blackwell’s point was if you spent even more then more than just state workers would be getting jobs and that’s where the whole argument makes Neil’s head explode, simply because there is no evidence that spending more would change anything on the jobs front. On the contrary, it is likely just the opposite.

Since the government creates no money or capital, it must take that money from others in order to spend more. This is money that the private sector would have spent anyway, or saved and invested to create capital. The government, on the other hand, must come back for more money in order to sustain the jobs it allegedly has “saved o created”. As Neil correctly points out, it is a losing proposition.

As for the line about 40% of the current deficit belong to Bush, well that’s just flat out wrong. The current budget began last October, so this belong to Obama. The budget from the ’09 fiscal year belongs to both Presidents, kind of. As Ed Morrissey has pointed out at Hot Air, the Democrats played fast and lose with the Budget at the end of Bush’s term, thus the Porkapalooza supplementary budget. Β In addition all budgets since 2007 have come from Democratically controlled Houses. Enough with this stuff. It’s getting old.

I saw that and it was appalling.  The shill from the unions just did not want to truly address the question Cavuto was asking, but even he was running on thin ice, and hence, the expletive.  It only served to demonstrate that he lost the argument, and needed to be thrown off the show before the truth slipped out.  The only thing that really amazed me was that he didn't call Cavuto a racist.

In the meantime, I will continue to look at the unemployment figures and the exponentially growing deficit, both of which put the lefty shill's lies to rest.   Unfortunately, it may put the country to rest as well.

Here is my point of view about job "saved" or "created". I lost a job right after Obama was elected and did not find one yet. Visiting local job support group I don't see anybody finding any jobs. Two of my friends who lost their job shortly after myself are still looking. If they still spend money the way they did I will never find a job. Those money should be allocated to tax cuts period.

It's nice to see that leaders of other countries tell Obama that he is a moron when it comes to economy.

I don't think people in this country have been remiss in telling him either!

I look at the use of profanity in this way just like I look at the use of ad hominem. In rhetorical terms, you just admitted that your argument has no more legs … you're done, you lose. This current crop of lefties are just showing their true colors. There is nothing left to support their arguments.

    • Dimsdale on June 28, 2010 at 3:33 pm

It is my experience that lefties are only one or two layers of reasonable(?) argument away from the telltale ad hominem attack.  The lack of critical thinking skills combined with a deficient education simply leave them twisting in the political wind.

The Stimulus Bill has saved or imagined 200,000,000 jobs, and only Nazi rightwing neo-Con homophobe book banning drill baby drill wingnut joker a-hole Republicans can't see it.

It should be hastily noted, for those not familiar with Tim, that he is being ironic/sarcastic/humorous….please don't take his comments seriously!!! πŸ™‚

Not only are the comments funny, they are quite profound. They really help the dialogue.

When things start to get nasty you can tell we are winning and they are losing. If they truly had a good argument or some good logic to explain this all away they would use it, but the truth of the matter is that they have no idea what to do so they are lashing out at us hoping we will get scared and run away from it all. They are just underestimating us for sure because we are not going to back down, we are not going to go away, we are going to stay steady and win back America.

As far as I can see it, they are going to get nastier before they succumb to our pressures and give up. Obama has an ego that will not quit – could liken it to the Japanese in WWII – they were steadfast in their fight and in their minds they were never going to quit – but as in WWII they did finally surrender after being hit over the head with a large object – hmmm – Mr. Obama should think about surrendering or perhaps he will have some sense knocked into him.

    • Dimsdale on June 29, 2010 at 4:24 am

They can't win by persuasion, because their ideas are faulty to begin with.  When you can't do that, you legislate against the will of the people.  Why do you think that all the Democrats that have been winning lately have been effectively pretending to be conservatives?

Case in point: look at the gay marriage decision in Massachusetts.  Did the legislature put that to a vote of the people?  No.  Even in liberal Massachusetts, home to the Kennedy crime family, they had to force that down our throat with legislation and judicial activism.  If the people truly wanted that, they would not have needed to be sneaky.

    • Dimsdale on June 29, 2010 at 4:26 am

Just to back that up, when they put bilingual education on the ballot as a referendum, the people of Massachusetts crushed it like the cockroach legislation it was.   Despite millions of dollars of advertising and pamphlets.

There is hope.  And where there is hope there's fire!  πŸ˜‰

Where do we get them from? Two plus two still equals four in my book. They can't show anything to support their claims so they use expletives to find a way out of the situation. God help us,PLEASE!

    • Dimsdale on June 29, 2010 at 4:20 am

We need to adopt an Alinsky tactic and ridicule them every minute of every day.  Let them know that stupid hurts (the country).

Please apologize to KEN Blackwell as used in your title… who would NEVER agree with this  jerk!

    • weregettinghosed on June 29, 2010 at 11:47 am

The title did not harm or hurt Mr. Blackwell, it said what the post was all about. It never implied Mr. Blackwell was in agreement, quite the contrary.

The point is missed if you stop at the title – we the people are moving beyond small points and going to the larger most critical points — we are in a middle of a take over and half the people just woke up to discover half of their freedoms are gone, they are mad – half of them don't want to even think about a take over, they rather hide their heads and peek out every so often to discover what else has been taken from them — all others are jumping mad and we are not going to sit down until we have won our country back. Some young folks are preparing for a war on their own soil – they say they can feel it, some are just back from Iraq and they tell me the feelings they get after being away – something is not right – and they know it. Keep your eyes open – don't sweat the small stuff, keep the sweat and tears for fighting for freedom.

We are at war with the Government and the first casualty of this war is the truth. History tells a different story than what I read here. First: It is a myth that government spending doesn't create jobs. What do you think our massive military and arms spending does? And why do you think every state in the Union cries like a baby when government defense spending in it is threatened? Our defense budget funds the largest jobs program in the world. Second, everyone agrees that we came all the way out of our Great Depression when WWII started. Why in heavens name do think that was? It is dangerous to forget our history, and embrace as facts what looks more like the BS of inter-party warfare. Sadly it makes little difference which party wins or loses. The corporate powers that benefit from inter-party warfare are still in the driver's seat.
