A prophet among us
I wish I could take credit for this, but I can’t. My producer Bob Joyce pointed this one out and the more I thought about it, the more I realized he is right. Peggy Joseph is indeed a prophet among us. And you laughed. Ok, and I did too.
First some context. It was an Obama campaign rally in Florida in 2008 and Channel 6 got the chance to interview a young woman who was so excited to see him. Why? Because, she said, Obama would pay for everything. No worries. No more. Go ahead laugh, or cry, but she was a prophet.

So what makes her a prophet? Here are some headlines just from this month.
Main Street may be about to get its own gigantic bailout. Rumors are running wild from Washington to Wall Street that the Obama administration is about to order government-controlled lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to forgive a portion of the mortgage debt of millions of Americans who owe more than what their homes are worth. An estimated 15 million U.S. mortgages – one in five – are underwater with negative equity of some $800 billion.

No gas too. Yikes! Peggy the prophet. Just to put a topper on that one … there’s a rebate to make it more affordable for Peggy too. But come on. In Obama land it’s all free: health care, retirement, college. All from O-B-A-M-A’s stash.

It’s just, well as GM as found out, it’s like selling your soul to the devil.

Has anyone thought about going back to Peggy Joseph and asking what else is in our future?

are his four years up yet? it feels as if he's been in office for a century! is it possible that he's WORSE than Jimmy Carter? this is pure, unadulterated pain.

In reference to a bill to subsidize cod fishermen introduced in the first year of the new Congress
NH-Jim,I am absolutely in awe of your knowledge of history. If we could just understand that nothing new ever happens that our forefathers understood this and created an icredible government. They carefully crafted it after looking at all the governments that went before. Congress has perverted this, as has President Obama, we need to go back to the original. We need "We the people" to take a stand.
Thank you, but I am no one to be in awe of. I hated U.S. history class in high school because I had a teacher that could not make it interesting to hold my attention. (The cute girl next to me definitely did a better job of that). I was a wide-eyed, naive, brainwashed, liberal kid who thought ALL is wonderful. Rosy-glasses to boot. That was the 70's-80's.
But, then along came a man that changed my view of the world…his name is Ronald Reagan. I saw the light and I became the first Republican in my family. We need another Ronald Reagan.
And, as scripture has it, "Give a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach that man to fish and he eats for a lifetime."
The people, like Peggy (may God help her), "need to learn to fish."
I am simply appalled that a country as great as this could produce a generation of people like this, black, white or whatever, that thinks it is a good idea that government give them freebies instead of working for what you want. Or that there would be American politicians that would be happy to buy their votes by giving them whatever they want. The American work ethic is dying on the vine, and will take the vine with it.
It speaks ill of our educational system, our media and our morality.
