The Designer Bailout

OK, it’s officially out of control. Bizarre. CNN reporting on the Obama stimulus plan uses a designed retailer as an example of businesses looking for help from Washington. What makes this so bizarre is the owner is looking to the government to help her expand her retail business. The best part is right at the start.

Perhaps because a banks won’t lend in this environment. Perhaps that is wise in this economy. Perhaps that’s not the role of the government. Perhaps that’s how we got in this friggin mess to begin with.

I can't pay attention to the show too much I am usually doing 3 things at the same time.  I am stunned that this woman opens a business and is depending on the government from the get go. This is unreal!!

If this Lady can't make  her business grow with successful combinations of products, pricing, employees, retail locations, etc.   What makes her think that the Government can help her do a better job?

Maybe the Wal-Marts, McDonalds, Stop-N-Shops of world will also look to Government to help them expand their brands.  Then they could ask for less competition.  Then they could ask for guaranteed sales.  Then when all the Government support does not make them profitable enough, their last request would be for a bailout.
