Stomach Churning (Turning) Time

Bush’s Treasury Secretary begs … begs … on one knee … in front of Nancy Pelosi … Ughhhh … while Senator Chris Dodd is hard at work … getting folks to agree to a financial bailout for … ACORN?

“House Republicans refused to support the Henry Paulson/Chris Dodd compromise bailout plan yesterday afternoon, even after the New York Times reported that Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson got down on one knee to beg Nancy Pelosi to compromise.  One of the sticking points, as Senator Lindsey Graham explained later, wasn’t a lack of begging but a poison pill that would push 20% of all profits from the bailout into the Housing Trust Fund — a boondoggle that Democrats in Congress has used to fund political-action groups like ACORN and the National Council of La Raza:”

Uh, Huh … Watched Lindsey Graham say it myself last night as I was cutting video. Read the whole thing at Hot Air. Your senior Senator at work.

    Jim:

First time posting on this great blog of yours. Also listen to Sound Off online at my job–with headphones.

Anyhow, I found something on NewsBusters, the blog of The Media Research Center has a post kind of like what you have:

You need to look at the WaMu failure yesterday. Federal regulators came in and took over and sold assets to JPmorgan for pennies on the dollar. WaMu is HUGE, this is proof positive that the markets can work this out WITHOUT a bail out.

This bail out is nothing more than welfare for these fat cats that made bad decisions and and power grab on the part of the current administration.

If you are reading this PLEASE write your representatives and tell them to vote NO.

    Jim,
I was the caller who turned you on to the ACORN story visiting Hartford Public High last week. Just a follow-up.
The “Affordable Housing Act” written by Democrats and pushed through Congress by Democrats this past summer was designed to siphon off up to 5% of the profits from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and given to Community activist groups like for instance… you guessed it… ACORN.
According to what I have read, ACORN is to receive $500 million a year in these siphoned funds. Incredible, why is this Constititional?

Why doesn’t anyone talk about this? This is far worse. I think I know why, cause McCain is going to do the same thing.

Video of how we got where we are today with this financial mess. As I have been saying for the last 2 years, this whole thing has been engineered, this level of lack of foresight and incompetence is not possible.

How come there is no McCain truth squad or no Palin truth squad on this website? Do you really believe they are telling the truth? What about the 24 million dollar road to nowhere – built in Alaska under Palin’s watch. There are so many reasons to not vote for McCaine but Sarah Palin is as good as any. Can you imagine her giving a state of the union speech? Can you imagine her handling a tough press conference in the middle of a crisis? I love one line I read that states she makes up for inexperience with brashness. And all we say is she’s such a down to earth American that we can relate to. I am sorry I don’t want the average Joe leading us. I want the best and the brightest, the most intelligent and the most educated. And if that alone makes them elitist so be it.

I could go on forever -

    Go Obama
