The "reverse racism" charge is a hold-over to the conventional wisdom the Reverend Jackson that minorities couldn't be racist, as they lacked the power to enforce their bigotry in the public square. As such, racism, per se, could only be the quality possessed by a member of the majority.

As for the Judge, she's a hack. She doesn't understand, based upon her own words, that her role is not to "create policy" but to adjudicate the law.

First of all what is reverse racism? Either a person is racist or they are not racist. I thought racism was the belief that your race was better than another race. Her statements were clearly racist and I simply can not think of a time where racism is desired in a court of appeals. That is not to say that such a case does not exist.

This is an OBVIOUS political race card for Obama, he is kissing the asses of the latino(a) voters. I don't think that he even cares if she gets confirmed. He has done his part to appease that segment of the voting public. I wonder if she realizes that she is being used as a tool because of her ethnicity. Though I bet she does not care as long as her career is advanced.

Boy, they must really be sweating this one. Usually, they give Rush a day or two before they start carving sound bites out of his show and misrepresenting what he says to those who did not listen to him.

I noted that they president left that dubious firefighters decision from his speech today, preferring to make some inane comments about Sotomayor's role in the baseball strike. Whoop de doo. Let the cover up begin.

I think Republicans should ask the same questions of Sotomayor as the Democrats did of Miguel Estrada. Let the chips fall where they may.
