Hamas insists on restoring the 1967 borders, even though Israel has given up most of the land TAKEN WHEN ISRAEL WAS ATTACKED IN WAR, and kept to protect them. But, Hamas also wants to have Jerusalem as their capital, and demands the so-called "law of return." This means that anyone (Palestinian Moslem) who had a relative, at any time, living in pre-Israel, Israel, could return and have citizenship. Thus, nullifying a Jewish state, and creating a hard-line, Islamic one. They don't even have to prove the relative existed.

The U.S. is one of the few (if there are any others I can't think of them) countries who genuinely have been a consistent ally of Israel - and at times that has been suspect. The U.N. hates them; the EU is basically anti-semetic. My greatest fear of the Obama administration is they would "force" Israel to submit to Hamas' conditions (which are basically espoused by all Arab leaders) or abandon support. Obama seems to be a perfunctory "Christian" at best, and let's not discuss the influence of the Rev. Wright!! I could see the President throwing Isael to the wolves, and don't have much confidence in Rahm Emanuel's ultimate support when push comes to shove.

Jimmy Carter was a disaster for Israel, and they reliquished a significant portion of land for a very uneasy, unequal peace accord. Administrations since then have generally tried to compel Israel to compromise, and they gave up a lot, gaining very little, if anything, in return. The first Bush, and his oil-happy, Arab-states appeasing administration (think James Baker), were almost as bad as Carter for Israel with the Madrid accords. The second Bush (God bless him) more or less left them alone, although Condi tried to get something going in the name of "peace" at the end.

Finally, Bible prophecy is centered around Israel. It would do well to remember what God said about His people through the prophet Zechariah, "he that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of his eye" (Zechariah 2:8).

Keywords: "fighters had stopped firing rockets at Israel for now" <----- "for now"
How many times have they stopped "for now" ???? These are words they have said so many times ... they mean nothing, for eternity ... whether you are Religious or not.
