Rahm Emanuel tied to Freddie Mac – nothing to see here

Just who is Obama’s new chief of staff? I’ve been a bit behind this week in reading due to other commitments, but this afternoon was when I first heard about Obama’s pick.

Guess who served on the board of Freddie Mac in 2000 and 2001?

Hat tip to Hot Air.

1992-1993: Clinton campaign finance director.

1993-1998: Senior advisor to the Clinton administration, positions included assistant to the president for political affairs and senior advisor to the president for policy and strategy.

1999-2002: Off to the public sector to make big dollars at an investment banking firm.

2000-2001: Named to the Board of Directors for Freddie Mac by Bill Clinton. That’s right, Freddie Mac. He was on the board during the time they were cooking the books. I’m not saying he was involved with cooking the books, but he was on the board and collected more than a quarter million dollars in director fees. Resigned from Freddie Mac to … drum roll please … run for Congress in Illinois.

2002-2008: Ran for congress in the Illinois 5th district and won quite easily all four years.

Present: White House chief of staff for President-elect Obama.

Now that’s change for ya.
