Orlando reporter locked in closet by … VP Biden?

Drudge may very well have one of the most bizarre stories of the year, Orlando Sentinel reporter Scott Powers, the pool reporter at a Joe “bite me” Biden fundraiser … was put in a closet and under guard by a “Bite Me” staffer to keep him from talking to any of the high profile guests at the function.

Here’s a bit from Drudge and here’s a picture from the closet.

Reporter Scott Powers was the designated "pool reporter" for the vice president's Wednesday visit to the massive Winter Park, Fla., home of developer and philanthropist Alan Ginsburg. The veep hadn't arrived yet but most of the 150 guests (minimum $500 donation) had ... A "low-level staffer" put Powers in a storage closet and then stood guard outside the door, Powers told the DRUDGE REPORT. "When I'd stick my head out, they'd say, 'Not yet. We'll let you know when you can come out.'

Drudge has more, and here’s more from the Orlando Sentinel:

Not looking for sympathy here, but the life of a political reporter isn’t all champagne and canapes. Consider our manScott Powers, who was sent over to the Winter Park home of Alan Ginsburg this morning as the designated “pool reporter” — aka scribe — for the fundraiser where Vice President Joe Biden is appearing on behalf of U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla.

Turns out the veep hadn’t arrived, but about 150 guests (minimum donation $500) were already in the house. So to prevent Scott from mingling with the crowd, a member of Biden’s advance team consigned him to a storage closet — and then stood outside the door to make sure he didn’t walk out without permission.

Change you can believe in, comrades. Are you outraged, or is this too outrageous to be outraged over?

    Controlling the message!

Done for the good of the party. Let the transparency begin any time now.

I guess he forgot to wear his "state controlled press" card…

He was the "designated" pool reporter. This is how they treat their own, chosen journolistas, comrade.

Not surprised in the least…this administration doesn't even try to hide their penchant for propaganda and lies.   Mr. "Low level staffer" would have been surprised if Scott Powers had given 9-1-1 a call from the closet to report that he was being detained against his will.  The arrival of the police would have gotten the party started at that point.  I definitely would have paid $500 to see that!

Isn't being held against your will a form of kidnapping?

The people of most western countries would be appalled that Joe the Dumber’s people kept a reporter in the closet. In fact, in most western countries reporters can marry and serve openly in the military.

Imagine if Dick Cheney had pulled this on one of the Clinton shills – George Stephanopoulos or Dee Dee Myers- that disguise themselves as "objective reporters."

I'm checking my calendar to see what today's date is…this story can not be true!!!

"When I'd stick my head out, they'd say, 'Not yet. We'll let you know when you can come out.'"

It's like they put a little kid in time out. Why would he stay against his will???

I think the Democrats are trying to redefine the word "transparency".
