But, while on this subject, I’m a little intrigued about international reaction. Some of the most racially prejudiced people I ever met are from Europe and the Middle East. I also wondered about this with Condi Rice.

Dims, I have to respectfully disagree with you. In my opinion, Obama was elected because many people were looking for a hero. He especially appealed to younger people because of the idealistic tone of his campaign speeches. He appealed to many others because they were looking for an anti-Bush candidate. In addition, the media fawned over him so much, that little serious investigative reporting was done, thus giving him a free pass. I’d say race entered into it more with them, if anything. Perhaps an added “bonus” was the fact that he was so popular in Europe. For some reasons, Americans can never accept the fact that the Eurpean intelligensia despise them, and are always trying to be “popular” with them. Forget it! Regular people like americans and that’s what’s important. But, I digress.

I don’t think color entered into it much. Young people today are used to inter-racial relationships, and it’s no big deal. People like me were touched (even though I don’t agree with just about all of his policies) and i think many were just plain surprised that a person of color was elected President. But, I doubt few people, except probably the black population, voted him in because of race. However, I could be wrong…it happened once!

I respectfully disagree. Affirmative action rewards “people of color” by preferentially awarding them jobs etc. on the basis of their race. I contend that PeBO was elected in an affiramtive action like manner, i.e. he was elected purely because he is (half) black. Considering his razor thin resume, can you honestly think of another reason that he was elected?

Sure, it was not an affirmative action program per se that got him elected, but it was a mindset that is a product of said program that got him elected. That and liberal “white guilt.”

Sure… with the assistance of a cooperative media who refused to address any of Obama’s warts — Ayers, Wright, his resistance to releasing his college transcripts, etc.

A free and fair election depends on a free and open media — just ask the media. If they favor one candidate over another and refuse to investigate them both equally, then you have an electorate working from a position of distorted information, preventing the making of an informed choice.

Wouldn’t you think that a guy that is supposed to be sooooo brilliant would at least be more subtle (dare I say clever?) about where his real sympathies lie?

Writing a “new chapter” to Obama and obamaphiles will basically be bending over, looking up at a “freedom fighter” and saying “thank you sir, may I have another”. Obamas “Were Sorry” tour is a brilliant move when you consider just how much the Muslim world respects those who apologize.

And if indeed we turn our back on Israel, we should be ashamed. That makes sense, turn your back on the only mid east country where a muslim has the right to vote. But, really, does Israel REALLY need anyone to watch out for them? Every other country hates them, they KNOW their survival depends on their endless show of strength and unity. Someone should paid attention.

2. Israel may as well kiss US support bye-bye, and we ARE the only country that supports them. See comment #1
