Obama Responds To Gov Blagojevich Arrest

This is as strange as it is corrupt. But hey, it’s Chicago. The US Attorney arrests the DEMOCRATIC Governor of Illinois Blagojevich for attempting to sell the vacant Obama senate seat. The transcript is priceless. But … lot’s of video here and links including Obama’s response and maybe mistake? Video below fold. (Note: Video now Up)

First US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald details some of the things Blagojovich reportedly says in his wiretap.

The second video, Obama responds and claims he never spoke to Blagojovich. (Still in process)

Although that appears to be not the case.

There’s also video of Blagojovich yesterday who seems to know he’s being wiretapped. Video below fold. Just crazy stuff.

Who will fill Obama's senate seat?

Ill. governor meeting with Obama today

CHICAGO, ILL. — Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.

That's one of Obama's first priorities today.

He's meeting with Governor Rod Blagojevich this afternoon in Chicago to discuss it.

Illinois law states that the governor chooses that replacement.

Jim – I appreciate your voice in the media to give a varied opinion on world events – and I commend your zeal in exposing hypocrites – however it bothers me that you so obviously delight in mocking people you disagree with (usually anyone that's not a republican).
I am disgusted with you today with your attempt to smear president-elect Obama by inferring that the money that was raised in his election campaign is somehow "pay for play" money like the bribes the disgraced Illinois governor is accused of soliciting. Other than the fact that Rod Blagojevich is Mr Obama's governor, and by law the governor makes the appointment to the senate seat Mr. Obama vacated, there is no evidence of any connection with Blagojevich's criminal behavior. I think it is shameful for you to sully our president elect's reputation with your gleeful, unsubstantiated slander. I hope that you realize that we are all one people, not us and them, or republican and democrats – and that now more than ever, influential voices like yourself should be helping to unite all americans to work together for a better America. Given your position at the helm of the WTIC "50,000 watt flamethrower", you have tremendous influence in shaping public opinion, both good and bad. You, more than the average american, have a solemn responsibility to fairly inform the public, not spread distrust and innuendo. In my opinion, more humility and less arrogance would improve your stature with a large portion of your listening audience. Myself included.
Merry Christmas and a Happier New Year to us all.

Do you imagine that Obama came up through that political sewer smelling of lilacs and roses, Tony?

A question about Obama’s comment yesterday regarding his knowledge of the Illinois Gov corruption mess…

Obama said: “I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening.”

Notice the correction from “WE” was changed to “I” was not aware. The truth will come out that the “WE” (meaning the Obama's inside circle) did, in fact, know about the corrupt demand of Gov Blogo and the question today should be what did they do with that information. Did they bring it to Obama and if so what did he know and when did he know it? Obama or his team knew about this corruption! Any real journalist should ask if they brought it to authorities or did they obstruct justice?

Why isn’t anyone in the media asking this question???

Tony: I guess "fearless leader" Obama didn't know anything about the credit card fund raising fraud or voter registration fraud perpetrated by his campaign and Obama's former employer, ACORN, respectively, right?

You do realize that David Axelrod is interwoven in Chicago politics, right?

I think I will conclude with a thought from an old boss of mine: absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
