Clearly, the following is suggested: 1) they apparently think that everyone is as weak minded as they and their little friends are, and the mere mentioning of an idea that is contrary to their freshly groomed minds is sufficient to sway them.  Also see: religious items in public places. 2) they are intellectually deficient and fact starved, but they realize that their beliefs are pathetically fragile houses of cards, that cannot withstand any contrary opinion because they have no facts with which to debate. It is the functional equivalent of a 3 year old sticking his fingers in his ears and shouting "la la la la la."  The only difference is that they want to stick fingers in your ears as well. College has become a breeding ground for students suffering from liberal socialist Stockholm Syndrome. Yeah, this seems to be the norm for college liberals.
