Mob rule and the “Ground Zero Mosque”: Lefties show the love

I post this only because those who opposed the mosque (yes mosque, not community center) at Ground Zero have been described by the main stream media as “haters”, “bigots”, “Islamophobes” and yes, even raaaaaaaacists. And yet somehow these incidents always fall off the radar screen of the main stream media or dismissed as the “radical fringe”. Lots of fringe on this movement.

This is courtesy of Jim Hoft at Gateway and Daniel Harper at the  Weekly Standard from Joey “Boots” Bassolino who videoed the entire incident. It is chock full of love and peace from the left. Make special note of the “zionist” comment around 3:50 … but also note how Joey is driven from the area by the mob, from the 4:30 mark on.

The most info on the incident and who these people are comes from American Power:

I recognized some of communist cadres from Weasel Zippers’ post yesterday. (The group’s website is Internationalist Group and the League for the Fourth International.) And the Pakistani dude launching into the Jew-hatred is “Comrade Shahid,” seen at the Worker’s World Party homepage. Might as well have been some of the folks from Booman Tribune or Daily Kos. This is classic leftist agitation.

Leftists? Communists? Gee it looks an awful lot like the SEIU protest in Maryland on that bankers front door step, huh?

Just remember what Daisy Kahn said Sunday:

And the opponents of the community center that were chased away by police had a large banner with pictures of beating and stoning that were supposed to portray Muslims. A manniquin with an Arab headdress was mounted on 2 missiles. And signs saying Obama has the middle name of Hussein.

The worse thing is the ongoing damage Murdoch Beck and Geller have done with this ratcheted up controversy-residual damage. I saw an interview with a doctor of the Muslim faith who had brought his young son and nephew to the city to join the supporters of the community center. Both the children said that they were now called "terrorist" by their classmates.

Chris freedom isn't free there is a price for speaking out. Kids can be mean. Where can I view the interview.

    • chris-os on August 24, 2010 at 6:35 am

And where do the kids get it from.

Check the Faux News site. It was an interview by Geraldo's brother live this weekend when he was on site going between the 2 protest groups in NYC.

Do you really think these kids watch Fox?  Where do the anarchists and ANSWER followers get it?  Where do the misguided students on campus get it?  Where does the vaunted "Arab street".

Remember "Islamic Rage Boy"?  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-492864/Th… .  Where did he get it from?

He couldn't call the muslim racist, so the crowd may as well call the Italian racist.  This is outrageous.

Christiane Amanpour's voice is starting to get on my nerves like Chris Matthews' voice does.

Pretty amazing.  What would these promoters of "tolerance" like to do?  Physically confront the opposition (which they kept reminding were only a block away, like they hoped to incite the crowd to bust on down there), and "run them all out of the city".  How about working on tolerance and sensitivity for people trying to heal from a violent mass murder–?  Oh…that kind of sensitivity doesn't compute… or fit the agenda.

I say:"Both sides have lost it"!! And, there is no going back. What are we doing to ourselves? Al Queda could not have expected that 9/11 would have turned this country upside down.

    • Dimsdale on August 24, 2010 at 10:43 am

Unless violence ensues, the public will have forgotten this in a month.  The country isn't upsidedown; it is just the controversy of the week.

Imagine if a tea party crowd went after a liberal camera dude like this!  The double standard is undeniable- we can't even hold up a sign or wear a shirt without being tarred with the hate brush.

It's about money. I recently heard a Canadian muslim remark on a conservative talk show that the building of the mosque/community center was going forward because it's hard to turn down $100 million. Along those lines, it looks like one of the owners of Fox News parent company, Saudi Prince al-Waleed bin Talal is one of the funders of Imam Rauf, the face of the project. Surprised? We really shouldn't be, for corporate interests, like Fox and the rest of the main stream media, it's about money, and it's about keeping us at each other's throats for ratings sake.

It's amazing a person buys stock in a company and now they are called owners,I always thought they were called stockholders. I own a few shares of stock I better get going so I can go sit in the owners seat and run my business.

    • chris-os on August 25, 2010 at 2:46 am

He is the 2nd largest shareholder in News Corp. Are you the 2nd largest shareholder in a huge corporation?

If so, can I borrow some money?

Oh wait, you said you own a few shares of stock. never mind.

Chris you want what I accumulated, the lefty in you wants to redistribute the wealth. Oh by the way, I went and checked your facts at the Huffington Post and your facts come from John Stewart a political satirist. If you want to run with the big dogs you need to get of the porch. Please bring some facts that can prove your case if you want to try and change someones opinion.

He's a huge stockholder in Citigroup the prince must be responsible for the problems on wallstreet

I think I understand the left's view of this issue. Ignore the anti-Semitism of the so-called Ground Zero Victory Mosque "supporters." Attack Fox News, some of its hosts, radio hosts and anyone else perceived to be anti-Muslim for opposing the GZ Victory Mosque. Then attack Fox News for having Muslim investors.

    So in summary:

The left is pro anti-Semites if they are pro-Ground Zero Victory Mosque.

The left is pro freedom of religion when it comes to the Ground Zero Victory Mosque, or if it feeds their hatred of Christians (especially Catholics and evangelicals), Jews or Republicans, but anti-freedom of religion for Christmas displays, bishops speaking out against abortion, memorial crosses, etc.

The left is anti-Muslim if Muslims invest in Fox News or other businesses they hate.

    • chris-os on August 25, 2010 at 4:46 am

You don't get it. Every Fox show has been hammering the question "Who is funding the Imam?" umm the same person that is funding them.

      Went over your head.

Many rabbis have spoken in favor of the Muslim community center, they know about religious persecution.

And, funny, the far "lefties" I know are devout Jews and Christians.

And, your bringing up Bill O's fake "war on Christmas", well, leave it to the righties to make the season one filled with hate and anger fueled by false victimhood and lies.

    • TomL on August 25, 2010 at 4:52 am

Tim thats what the left does call people racists and bigots because they don't have the facts to change an opinion

    • David R on August 25, 2010 at 5:28 am

Dear Righties and Lefties: my entry was not meant to shift blame to Fox News, but to point out what I believe is the problem with the system. We are not going to make any progress if we can't see how our own side operates. We will merely shift deck chairs on the Titanic as the saying goes. Money/corporate interest rules the airwaves, politics and much of government. It is an equal opportunity employer. Right, left, middle, it supports whoever gives it bang for the buck. Just so you don't think I take sides, let me point out our own Chris Dodd's bad behavior when he arranged for half of the stimulus money for the entire country from the Department of Agriculture to go to build a community center for Mohegan tribe. Same tribe that owns one of the most successful casinos in the world and whose members get $30k each (Family of 4 gets $120 K) per year. Why the Dems weren't up in arms is not beyond me. Just another example of paying off friends and supporter. In this case Dodd was shameless.
