Matthews on the Tea Party: “They have guns, it’s scary.”

This is old, it’s tiring, and it’s really starting to tick me off. Chris Matthews with Andrea Mitchell yesterday afternoon is promoting his upcoming special on “The New Right” and the Tea Party. Mitchell gives him the chance to promote the show … and Matthews feeds right into the lefty paranoia machine. “They’ve got guns. It’s scary.”

I love the sound bites with the militia. I love the conflation. I love the way everyone in the Tea Party is framed as a group that wants to wrestle the government from the “enemy”, like the British? You have to watch to believe.

      Do anyone other than bloggers and comics watch these tools anymore???

      Do they have any credibility???

    Anyone, even the leftys, has to be able to see through this propaganda tool.

    Mathews doesn't like facts to get in the way.  He is an idiot.  The sad and scary thing about this is that there is enough of an audience that takes what he says as gospel.  Mathews and those like him on the left want there to be a violent confrontation.  Never let a crisis go to waste.  A situation like that could make a nice primer for a state of emergency.

    America needs to really wake up and get involved in what's going on before it is too late.

    Matthews doesn't understand the basic premise of this country of the People as Soveriegn, or the Constitution.

    The Supreme Court is a co-equal branch of government, never intended to become supreme over the other branches.  While it has become the practice and is convenient for the Court to rule upon the constitutionality of laws, it is the sovereign people who ultimately must decide, expressed through their participation and votes, the constitutionality of the actions of their representatives and public servants.  If this be not the case, the people will have ceased to be sovereign in this country.  That is not just my opinion, or a Tea Party opinion, that was the opinion of Abraham Lincoln, and also Thomas Jefferson.

    Lincoln expressed it best in his First Inaugural, referring to the horrendous Dred Scott decision:

    "…if the policy of the government upon vital questions, affecting the whole people, is to be irrevocably fixed by decisions of the Supreme Court, the instant they are made, in ordinary litigation between parties, in personal actions, the people will have ceased to be their own rulers, having to that extent practically resigned their government into the hands of that eminent tribunal."

    Really?  That much flaming attention paid to the Gadsden flag?

    Matthews is grasping at anything for a story and his little cohort across from him calling it "fascinating stuff" doesn't change the fact that it's serious crap.

    Jim, you have guns…you're scary…I'll be dutifully hiding under a blanket during the show tomorrow morning!  ha!  You keep tellin' us you can't make this stuff up and I'm starting to believe that truth is waaaaaaaaaaay stranger than fiction!

    Matthews always amazes me with his timing. He praised the European transit system and what happens..the chunnel train breaks down along with others…I find it amusing to listen to him, ( not frequently..don't want to lose my mind),  to see  just how the progressive mind DOESN'T work. If you don't have a sense of humor we would all go mad. lol

    Too funny…Matthews compares militias to the tea party…..2 totaly different groups that happen to utilize the yellow Gadsden flag. This is like comparing code pink to the breast cancer awareness movement….2 totaly different group yet they happen to use the color pink as an identifier. 

    Too bad maintaining? our Liberty and FREEDOM doesn't send a chill down Matthew's leg…wake up…this president's policies are destroying our country.
