We need to face a couple of basic facts.

First, the GOP as we knew it is dead. No political party can survive as many schisms as the GOP has since 1964. I thought Reagan was going to save us. Silly me. We&#039;ve become the modern equivalent of the Whig Party.

Second, WE NEED AN ISSUE. A galvanizing, central issue. One so compelling and so central to most peoples&#039; lives that they&#039;ll join us. Maybe The Zero is going to give us that issue. Maybe not.

Please forgive my cynicism.</description>
