We need to face a couple of basic facts. First, the GOP as we knew it is dead. No political party can survive as many schisms as the GOP has since 1964. I thought Reagan was going to save us. Silly me. We've become the modern equivalent of the Whig Party. Second, WE NEED AN ISSUE. A galvanizing, central issue. One so compelling and so central to most peoples' lives that they'll join us. Maybe The Zero is going to give us that issue. Maybe not. Please forgive my cynicism. This is like asking who’s going to dress the corpse for the funeral.
