Yes, law makers are suggesting firearm confiscation

I’ve often heard people state the government and lawmakers are not talking about taking your guns away. Oh yes they are.

From the Daily Caller.

In an interview with the Daily Times Herald in Caroll, Iowa, state Rep. Dan Muhlbauer said governments should start confiscating semi-automatic rifles and other firearms.

Muhlbauer, a Democrat from the western Iowa town of Manilla, is a cattleman and farmer. The newspaper reported that he owns a .410 shotgun, a .22 rifle and a .22 pistol.

“We cannot have big guns out here as far as the big guns that are out here, the semi-automatics and all of them,” Muhlbauer told the newspaper during a December 19 audiotaped interview. “We can’t have those running around out here. Those are not hunting weapons.”

The 2nd Amendment is not about hunting you illiterate communist windbag. This man – along with the other gun control nuts advocating confiscation should be shunned right out of office if not the country.

In Connecticut, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) wants instant NICS background checks when you purchase ammo.

… Blumenthal said Tuesday that he will introduce a bill to close what he called a “ludicrous loophole” by requiring that people undergo instant background checks when they buy ammunition — just as they must do before they buy a gun. …

Under Blumenthal’s bill, the quick checks that federally licensed firearms dealers are required to perform on would-be gun purchasers — using the FBI’s National Instant Background Check System (NICS) — would also be required to determine if an ammunition buyer falls into one of the banned categories.

He is serious. This federal legislation would virtually eliminate the ability to purchase ammunition online, and many stores that now sell ammunition would either stop selling it or dramatically increase the price. In Connecticut, retailers would have to contact the Connecticut State Police every time you buy a box of ammunition. Can you imagine the cost to make and answer all the phone calls? Many states are frequently overwhelmed with calls for background checks and this could easily increase the number of background checks 20-fold.

And of course, it would not stop someone from mass murder.

These politicians are truly sickening. Where does all of their hatred of gun owners come from?
All of this liberal gum-flapping I hear and read about is directed at the legitimate gun owners. The problem is with criminally mentally ill people. We need Nut Control.
Chris Christie had the best response to a media inquiry saying that he wanted to include mental health issues along with drug treatment in any discussions. He is one of the few sane (figuratively) politicians that the media will quote?
I’ll bet that handloading supplies are selling out.

Despicable politicians – they have chosen to direct the hate at a soft target – gun owners and the NRA.??????????????????? Why??
Because pols know they themselves?are at fault and need a distraction instead of admitting it.
Because they failed those who needed it most, the mentally ill. (Biggest cause of most gun deaths)
Because they failed to win the war on drugs, if they ever committed to it in the first place. (Next biggest cause of gun deaths).
Because they knew they could use the ?gun-o-phobes?frustrations against?a manageable sized group that suits the pol’s needs.? This keeps all but the pols?fighting while the pols make the most important power grab – taking firearms away from EVERY American.??And the hard target (the pols) gets even harder.?

When Blumenthal speaks of banned categories, is he speaking about a watch list, terrorist group or a hate group?
If so, these guys have already decided the?losers as well as the winners.?

I can only HOPE that true Patriots have the courage to stand against these DICTATORS…. Especially you men who often ‘knuckle under’ to your Liberal wives & girlfriends!?

Let’s start talking about taking away their protection,no armed trooper for Malloy & the Capitol police given nightsticks & turning in their sidearms.

So much for the oath of office.
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic
So they lied taking the oath, no surprises there.
Nothing there that says except those parts I don’t like.
Maybe we should have a “means” test for all candidates to make sure they have at least read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

These politicians qualify as domestic enemies who imperil the constitution.? Don’t members of the military also swear an oath to protect the constitution as well?? Shouldn’t our military personnel begin to round up these rogue political extremists in order to thwart the coup d’etat being commissioned by the Obama regime?

They are abroad?”nation building”, which is not in their job description.?? How conveneient (sarcasm intended).
We?have to do it in their stead.

This deserves some attention, with all the talk of gun control it’s seems to be leaving plenty of unanswered questions about Sandy Hook.
    1. who were the two other guys that were arrested at the school.
    2. who was treating adam lanza and what was he taking.
    3. No actual video?
    4. Where is Nancy Haymond a survivor and her response???
    5. This is huge Why were crisis actors used…….

    • Steve McGough on January 10, 2013 at 12:43 pm

You’re first comment and you’re posting a conspiracy theory about crisis actors? ?Certainly we can and should have the mental health/drugs discussion (which politicians seem to be ignoring) but to go into this stuff? The investigation is ongoing, let it get done.

For what it is worth – the two other guys were New York reporters trying to get a story.

Face it: Democrats have Great Britain envy.? They worship at the feet of their $ocialized health care, absolute gun seizures, and their “roll over a play dead” government.
    ?
A Democrat utopia if there ever was one.

  9. gillie28 on January 11, 2013 at 7:24 am

Dims, I just don’t get it…why on earth do they want to emulate UK?? The labour party there pretty much destroyed the country and left economic chaos in their wake.? You’d think they’d learn a lesson from it.
As far? as confiscating guns, here’s a plan: have them go into the Chicago ghettos and other gang-land areas?and confiscate all their weapons first.? If that works out, then maybe?the rest of the law-abiding, gun owners might be more open to some compromise.? Or not!

  10. gillie28 on January 11, 2013 at 7:30 am

Dims, there wasn’t a need to confiscate guns in UK since they always had strict gun laws there.??No one really owned any except for hunting and sporting clubs where they?used?rifles/shot guns?(we even had one in our house).? However, as criminals grew bolder and more evil they brought weapons in with them….still shootings were so rare that even the police didn’t carry guns – just batons.? Think this is still the case, except for specialist squads.

    • Dimsdale on January 13, 2013 at 1:07 pm

Then the 1997 legislation was designed to fix a problem that doesn’t exist?? Sounds like the usual politics to me.? I worry more about the few who did find a need to defend themselves being treated like criminals by the government.? Here and there.

Abortion is another discussion that needs to be addressed along with mental health. Mental illness gets a pass as it is such a difficult target to acquire. But abortion . . . ?
The latest numbers indicate that there were one million government funded abortions last year with another one million private provider abortions! That is a holocaust on the innocent. Where is the outrage and indignation on the part of the Left! Or, the Right for that matter?
Two million abortions, in one year!? That is genocide! If we could control the media, the LSM, and change the word, abortion, to MURDER, this false, opportunistic assault on gun-owners would have a different ordering. Right now, it appears that liberals are the ones complicit in all of these abortions; how many rabid gun-grabbers have had or been a partner to an abortion? (D&C, morning after, estrogen, etc.)
The media, collectively, doesn’t care about abortion. It is so common; that there is no glitz in the story.

    • Dimsdale on January 13, 2013 at 1:12 pm

If you look at the recent census numbers (http://www.census.gov/compendia/statab/cats/births_deaths_marriages_divorces/family_planning_abortions.html), you will see that the true self inflicted genocide is being committed by blacks, who have triple the abortion rate of whites and “other” groups, and twice the national rate for all groups.
      ?
You have to wonder if this shooting of oneself in the foot is a product of the cheapening of life and sanctity of marriage by the liberals.? Well, I don’t wonder…
      ?
      It must be Bush’s fault!
